How to set up an "airshow view camera" at the crowdline that FOLLOWS the plane?

Hi guys,

I'm aware you can just position the camera where you want with F2 view and then press RCtrl + F11 to go into free camera mode but that camera does not follow the aircraft, you have to do it manually. Is there a way of setting up a camera where you want but then have it actually automatically look at the airplane from that set location?

Just trying to set up an airshow style camera where you physically don't have to follow the plane with it. Is there a way of doing this?

Many thanks!!

Search the controls menu for something called ‘Cycle Padlock’ or ‘Padlock’ (I can’t remember exactly which it is) I set mine to left CTRL plus the / key and it’ll lock onto your aircraft and follow it.

Also worth setting the zoom keys too so you can zoom in and out on your plane. 👍

F2 (to position the camera where you want) then LCtrl+F3 is the best way to do it.

The F11 camera tends to be "pushed" away when the aircraft comes to close of it.

Ctrl+F11 view doesn't get pushed. I use it plus Ctrl+F3 almost exclusively. I haven't tried F11 since that's more of an "airbase camera" than a true free camera. I tried F2+Ctrl+F3 and for me it seemed like the camera was "pushed" quite a ways off the aircraft's flightpath.

That's odd, it works the exact opposite way for me.

Also, F11 and Ctrl+F11 are really the same camera. It's just that if you havent set up a "custom" free camera previously (by using Ctrl+F11) then when you press F11 it will cycle through the airports. If you've used Ctrl+F11 and switch to another camera (F1, F2, F7, etc) when you press F11 it will jump back to your "custom" free camera.
