Pmedic548 Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 I was playing a single mission over the gulf in the F-16 and had to eject. I decided to not exit the game until after the pilot landed in the water. He promptly sank and died. With all the survival gear that a pilot has when he ejects, (should also be a life raft hanging about 25 feet below the pilot), a water landing should not result in the death of the pilot. I would like to see the pilot be able to survive most if not all water ejections. And if you look historically, some naval pilots have successfully ejected from a jet after it has hit the water. 4
Shmegegge 1-1 Aero Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Perhaps this could be expanded to SAR capabilities in general added to DCS without the need for scripts. 3
draconus Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Yep - long time request. It's even worse. Even if you land on the shore and take a few steps into small river - you're dead. Fire? No problem. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
al531246 Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 This has been a meme in DCS for at least as long I've been playing the game. To DCS pilots the sea is lava! Intel i5-8600k | EVGA RTX 3070 | Windows 10 | 32GB RAM @3600 MHz | 500 GB Samsung 850 SSD
Mistang Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 There should be a full Paleolithic hunter gatherer survival simulation for downed pilots.
