hews500d Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 After a LOT of lurking I guess it's finally time to register and become a part of the DCS:BS community. Hopefully the English manual will be available soon so I can start learning about the Ka-50. Does anyone know of ED is planning on releasing a map of the area/terrain in Blackshark, similar to what was in Longbow 2 or Falcon 4? It would be totally cool if they did, preferably with topographic features, etc since a lot of helicopter tactics depend on "nap of earth" flying. Darrell
graywo1fg Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 other than this map i don't think they will have one in the works for a long time. takes a LOT of work especially to be geographically accurate! hews500d Posted October 17, 2008 Author Posted October 17, 2008 Welcome! Thanks Dave! hmmm, I wonder if there are any TPC or ONC charts available for that area. *off to check a few pilot supply sites* :book: Darrell
IvanK Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Lots of ONC and TPCs but can you still buy them ? I thought that all stopped a couple of years ago.
RvETito Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Don't worry about the map, it covers 330 000 sq. km which is plenty of room for a helicopter. You have flat planes, you have foot hills, you have the Caucassus with high mounts and deep valeys, you have the Black sea- pretty much all kind of terrain. 1 "See, to me that's a stupid instrument.
