Furiz Posted June 17, 2021 Posted June 17, 2021 Hey, creating new post with my logs etc, having issues with the game since the update, stuttering, very slow map loading (not responding), stutter or freeze on weapon switch, AG or AA mode select etc, loading too long when I use F2 to see other planes, or F11, F9, game using double the RAM it was using before. dcs.log process_list.tx DxDiag.txt
Flappie Posted June 17, 2021 Posted June 17, 2021 (edited) I can see in your dcs.log that DCS is struggling: ... 2021-06-17 19:09:09.133 ERROR SOUND: render time = 0.069512s exceeded allowed slice of 0.010000s 2021-06-17 19:09:09.492 ERROR SOUND: render time = 0.018452s exceeded allowed slice of 0.010000s 2021-06-17 19:09:09.926 ERROR SOUND: render time = 0.012083s exceeded allowed slice of 0.010000s 2021-06-17 19:09:10.453 ERROR SOUND: render time = 0.039031s exceeded allowed slice of 0.010000s 2021-06-17 19:09:10.747 ERROR SOUND: render time = 0.023431s exceeded allowed slice of 0.010000s 2021-06-17 19:09:10.874 ERROR SOUND: render time = 0.010805s exceeded allowed slice of 0.010000s ... (that is just a sample) I see DCS is installed on an NVMe (D:\) which is good. I also see your DCS "Saved Games" folder was moved to your HDD (E:\). That's not good. Why? Because DCS uses its "Saved Games" folder all along your sessions. SRS is also installed on E:\, and it seems DCS is having a heard time launching it. This following message appears several times in your log: LuaNET: Trying to Launch SRS @ E:\Program Files\DCS-SimpleRadio-Standalone\ You can start by uninstalling SRS to see if it's the culprit, but I doubt it. You should run a checkup on your E:\ drive. Is it just slow or is it dying? Is your HDD data cable damaged? You must find the answer. Check or replace its data cable, run a chkdsk , check for S.M.A.R.T. warnings . Edited June 17, 2021 by Flappie 1 ---
Furiz Posted June 17, 2021 Author Posted June 17, 2021 That might be correct, cause I was checking processes and my HDD performance was running at 99%, I was wondering why since the game is on my M.2 SSD. Well its late for me to try all that, have to work early etc... but Ill do it tomorrow and see what happens, thank you!
Furiz Posted June 18, 2021 Author Posted June 18, 2021 I moved Saved Games folder to my SSD and reinstalled SRS to SSD as well, and nothing changed dcs.log Also did a check on my HDD prior to the Saved Games and SRS move, and all seems good,
Flappie Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 (edited) Run this command in a "cmd" window to know where your pagefile is stored: wmic pagefile list /format:list and paste the result here, please. If your pagefile is stored on your E:\ drive, you'll need to move it to another drive. Edited June 18, 2021 by Flappie ---

Solution Flappie Posted June 18, 2021 Solution Posted June 18, 2021 (edited) Thanks. Look no further: your pagefile is stored on your slowest drive. As soon as you move it to one of your other drives, DCS will be OK. You can ask Windows to handle the pagefile automatically and reboot. Usually, it uses one of the fastest drive. If for some reason your pagefile stays on E:\, set the pagefile manually and place it to another drive. Edited June 18, 2021 by Flappie ---
