bkthunder Posted June 20, 2021 Posted June 20, 2021 So i'm trying the SC thanks to the 2-week trial period. I am very puzzled by the behavior of the AI wingman: when on BRC at 800ft, hook down, instead of staying echelon right, he transitions to a kind of trail formation. All coms are correctly done. I tired different ways to approach the carrier, marshalling and all. It seems he just doesn't follow procedures and always comes really close echelon when on the downwind side, and then transitions to trail when on BRC. What am I doing wrong? Windows 10 - Intel i7 7700K 4.2 Ghz (no OC) - Asus Strix GTX 1080 8Gb - 16GB DDR4 (3000 MHz) - SSD 500GB + WD Black FZEX 1TB 6Gb/s

Usually when I trap and stop, the AI has just hit the groove, so you have to clear the landing zone fairly quickly.Cheers!Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk W10 Home 64Bit, Intel Skylake I5 6600K 3.50GHz, ASUS ROG Stryx Z270F MoBo, 64GB G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4 3200 RAM, Samsung 960 Pro 512GB M.2 SSD (OS), Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD, 2TB Seagate SDHD, 2TB WD Green HDD, Gigabyte 3060 12GB VRAM
bkthunder Posted June 20, 2021 Author Posted June 20, 2021 Thanks, but I mean before the kiss off. The wingman is just not in the right spot, he's supposed to be echelon right at the moment I make the break, instead he is in a trail formation. I can't figure out how to get him to be in echelon right. Windows 10 - Intel i7 7700K 4.2 Ghz (no OC) - Asus Strix GTX 1080 8Gb - 16GB DDR4 (3000 MHz) - SSD 500GB + WD Black FZEX 1TB 6Gb/s
Scotch75 Posted June 20, 2021 Posted June 20, 2021 Yeah, I think that is just a DCS coding AI'ism. There is not much you can do about it, as the AI must enter an "approach phase" when passing a certain position from the ship.Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk W10 Home 64Bit, Intel Skylake I5 6600K 3.50GHz, ASUS ROG Stryx Z270F MoBo, 64GB G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4 3200 RAM, Samsung 960 Pro 512GB M.2 SSD (OS), Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD, 2TB Seagate SDHD, 2TB WD Green HDD, Gigabyte 3060 12GB VRAM
bkthunder Posted June 20, 2021 Author Posted June 20, 2021 I see... kinda weird the iconic moment of a carrier break looks nothing like it I thought they had overhauled the ATC and AI to represent carrier ops, is this maybe a bug? Scotch75 Posted June 20, 2021 Posted June 20, 2021 I believe the plan is to overhaul all ATC and AI etc, but it is low priority at the moment.Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk W10 Home 64Bit, Intel Skylake I5 6600K 3.50GHz, ASUS ROG Stryx Z270F MoBo, 64GB G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4 3200 RAM, Samsung 960 Pro 512GB M.2 SSD (OS), Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD, 2TB Seagate SDHD, 2TB WD Green HDD, Gigabyte 3060 12GB VRAM

Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk According to @BIGNEWY ATC is actually a high priority, but it is an extremely complex task and will take more time to get it right.
