Steel Jaw Posted June 24, 2021 Posted June 24, 2021 I push both toe brakes, hold, pull the parking brake, release the toe brakes then the parking brake, parking brake handles falls back down right away and toe brakes release. Anything Im doing wrong? Cheers. "You see, IronHand is my thing" My specs: W10 Pro, I5/11600K o/c to 4800 @1.32v, 64 GB 3200 XML RAM, Red Dragon 7800XT/16GB.
javelina1 Posted June 24, 2021 Posted June 24, 2021 (edited) I'm not in front of my Jug at the moment, but I think it's this: pull the parking brake, push the toe brakes, release the toe brakes, release lever Edited June 24, 2021 by javelina1 sequence 2 MSI MAG Z790 Carbon, i9-13900k, NH-D15 cooler, 64 GB CL40 6000mhz RAM, MSI RTX4090, Yamaha 5.1 A/V Receiver, 4x 2TB Samsung 980 Pro NVMe, 1x 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD, Win 11 Pro, TM Warthog, Virpil WarBRD, MFG Crosswinds, 43" Samsung 4K TV, 21.5 Acer VT touchscreen, TrackIR, Varjo Aero, Wheel Stand Pro Super Warthog, Phanteks Enthoo Pro2 Full Tower Case, Seasonic GX-1200 ATX3 PSU, PointCTRL, Buttkicker 2, K-51 Helicopter Collective Control
scoobie Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 It is, both in Jug and Pony. My short slogan for this (otherwise I keep forgetting): "PULL, TAP, RELEASE", i.e. pull the handle, tap the toe brakes (fully), realease the handle. i7-8700K 32GB 2060(6GB) 27"@1080p TM Hawg HOTAS TPR TIR5 SD-XL 2xSD+ HC Bravo button/pot box

Diesel_Thunder Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 It works for me every time. Pull and hold parking brake handle Push down both toe brakes fully and hold about 2 or 3 seconds Release toe brakes Release parking brake handle, which should stay extended. To release parking brake, push toe brakes and handle will pull in on its own. @scoobieCorrect, both the Mustang and Jug’s parking brake work the same way. Only real difference is you only see the handle in the Mustang whereas you see the handle and the parking mechanism in the Jug. 1 PC: MSI X670E, Ryzen 9 7900X, 64GB DDR5 RAM, RTX 3090 Ti, TM Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Pro Flight pedals, Opentrack Link to my Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/DieselThunderAviation Commander, 62nd Virtual Fighter Squadron Join the 62nd VFS today! Frederf Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 The handle doesn't engage any brakes itself like a car (or a Cessna which I thought it did, but it's been a long time). Instead it is a friction device for the toe brakes. First brakes are depressed and then lever is pulled to jam the toe pedals in position (sometimes the order is reversed and often the order doesn't matter). What matters is that you relax foot pressure from the pedals while holding the lever out. The system "bites" the pedals and lever together preventing both the lever and pedals from springing back. You should see the pedals physically remain in position while your input is removed. Once satisfied the pedals are jammed depressed you can relax pull on the lever and it will remain extended. If the lever sinks into the dash then the friction didn't bite. To unjam the pedals you can do this hands-free by depressing the toe brakes which removes friction from the brake lever and allowing the lever to sink into the dash. Then the lever falls back into the dash under spring tension. Gentle people would hold the handle and let it gently back in instead of letting it slam home. Once the lever is no longer pulled out the pedals will relax as normal when foot pressure is removed. What happens in sims with this system is that very small pedal inputs count as unjamming the system. The result is that parking brakes never seem to stick. Make sure to have good enough deadzones on your pedal controller. Keep the lever pulled until your feet are completely off the pedals and the input is a steady 0. Test and see what level of pedal input is needed to unjam the lever with only your feet. 1
