Nealius Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 (edited) Bombing the targets at Marianas FDM range, intended target is the second group of containers from the north end of the island. Coordinates for dead-center I input into the DED were N16 01.249 E146 03.649 187ft. Rolling in on the target with CCRP, the TPOD is looking dead center of the target, where it should be, but the TD box is a few hundred meters south of both the target coordinates and where the TPOD is looking. Upon switching to CCRP the STPT diamond is in the same erroneous spot the TD box was. Image 1: Target is on the BFL at the -40° mark. TD box is some 2° above that, TPOD showing dead center of the target at -40° in the HUD. Image 2: Intended target more visible at around -41° in the HUD. You can see the STPT diamond is about 1° higher than that. The track file is quite long, but can be attached if needed. Edited July 4, 2021 by Nealius
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted July 4, 2021 ED Team Posted July 4, 2021 Hi, are you able to reproduce this in a shorter mission? We really need to see a track replay to be able to try and reproduce the problem you are seeing. thanks Forum rules - DCS Crashing? This time I did not edit coordinates and simply placed the STPT right in the center of the target (secondmost target from the North). In the screenshot you can also see what I saw when reproducing the issue. The STPT diamond is again a few hundred meters south of where it should be, and the CCRP TD box is way off. It's my understanding that the CCRP TD box should be on the STPT unless otherwise moved with the TDC while HUD or TGP are SOI. I've also not experienced issues with STPT diamonds being in the wrong locations until 2.7 and/or the Marianas map. STPT-TDBOX.trk Edited July 5, 2021 by Nealius
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted July 5, 2021 ED Team Posted July 5, 2021 Hi Nealius The steer points you have set in the editor all have high altitudes over the targets. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? In the first posting waypoint altitude was set at 187ft, target elevation, and the STPT diamond was offset ~2 degrees vertically so I retested. Altitude does not affect the TD box. It affects the STPT diamond minimally, but it is still offset vertically from where it should be. I noticed the offset is vertical placement in the HUD, not related to any cardinal direction. I ran four passes: 1. STPT at target elevation 187ft 2. STPT created again through DED 3. STPT altitude changed to 0ft 4. STPT altitude changed to 15,000ft (I may have 3 and 4 mixed up) All four passes showed the same result: TD box off in the water, STPT diamond behind the target, this time the distance was minimal. I have a couple other theories to test for reproducing a larger offset. STPT-TDBOX-RETEST.trk
