Hi,

after quite a few problems with the Hotas Cougar software, TARGET. I am making a profile for another software, GREMLIN.

My idea is NOT to touch the default DCS keyboard assignment.

Make me a "PROFILE" in GREMLIN, where I assign those keys "by default" to HOTAS.

Up to that point, the idea, all good, but the reality is a little bit of a bitch ..., I am doing the profile of the Stick, and I have reached TRIM, the problem that I find is this:

The default assignments are in Spanish (ES) keyboard:

COMPENSATOR SWITCH - Push (ascend) -> Assigned by default to -> RCtrl +;

COMPENSATOR SWITCH - Right Plane Down -> Default Assigned To -> RCtrl + /

COMPENSATOR SWITCH - Left plane down -> Default assigned to -> RCtrl +,

COMPENSATOR SWITCH - Pull (ascend) -> Assigned by default to -> RCtrl +.

And I have the problem at this point, since on the keyboard with ES layout, the (,) and (;) keys are the same, so I can't assign the same key 2 times ...

I've thought of changing the keyboard mapping Left Plane Down (RCtrl +,) or Nudge (Ascend) (RCtrl +;), to another key, but:

+ This breaks my initial idea of NOT touching the original key mapping a bit (I don't want to touch them in case I reinstall it to make it easy to go back to the keys)

+ The keyboard is very full of assignments, some will be free, but I don't see it.

Any ideas...

I think the easiest thing to do is change the key assignment of one of the conflicting controls.

Actually, the easiest would be to just configure your Cougar Hotas within DCS, using its own Control Window. I assume there is a reason why you are configuring your HOTAS with an external utility.

I also have a Cougar HOTAS,  and I usually configure it outside of DCS using Foxy, the predecessor of TARGET, and I do this because I like to do bindings that are not possible within the DCS Control Windows, like binding a key sequence of several keystrokes to a HOTAS button for example.

I'm having the same problem on an AZERTY keyboard.

It's not always easy to generate the same characters DCS expects if you have anything else then a QWERTY keyboard.

For example i have the same problem for Trim:

I just change them.

COMPENSATOR SWITCH - Push (ascend) -> Assigned by default to -> RCtrl +; to RCtrl + Up Arrow

COMPENSATOR SWITCH - Right Plane Down -> Default Assigned To -> RCtrl + / to RCtrl + Right Arrow

COMPENSATOR SWITCH - Left plane down -> Default assigned to -> RCtrl +, to RCtrl + Left Arrow

COMPENSATOR SWITCH - Pull (ascend) -> Assigned by default to -> RCtrl +. to RCtrl + Down Arrow

Same goes for everything assigned with a Q which on my keyboard is an A, W becomes Z etc...

I just change them and then make a backup.
