Florence201 Posted July 11, 2021 Posted July 11, 2021 (edited) When carrying out a cold start and powering on the radar at the runway hold, getting airborne in NAV mode, climbing to height, then switching to A-A, FCR page shows radar OFF. Cycling master modes has no effect. You have to recycle radar power to get FCR in A-A to work. This issue has been apparent to others in my online Sqn too. Track attached. Frederf Posted July 11, 2021 Posted July 11, 2021 This bug has a much simpler demonstration condition. This can be demonstrated with an air start, selecting any master mode, turning off radar while in that mode, leaving that master mode, turning on radar in a different master mode, and returning to the original master mode. As long as that mode change doesn't involve a major FCR mode change (ACM-ACM, STBY-STBY, CRM-CRM) then the radar will not check if the power is on. NAV: Remembers OFF state AA: Remembers OFF state AG STRF: Remembers OFF state* AG CCIP: Remembers OFF state* MO: Remembers OFF state* DGFT: Remembers OFF state* S-J: Remembers OFF state* E-J: Remembers OFF state* *If radar major mode is different then radar is rechecked and recognizes power on otherwise no check is made Viper FCR power on not checked.trk 1
Florence201 Posted July 12, 2021 Author Posted July 12, 2021 Whilst I appreciate you’re adding extra data, I fail to see how all that you’ve written is a “much simpler demonstration condition” lol. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Frederf Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 Much fewer variables are involved. There is no question about electrical system, INS alignment, etc. It can be demonstrated in as little as 5 button presses and about 10 seconds. 1
