After my first cable shorted and waited about a month for the replacement, I swore never again. My HP experience was pretty good this time. Logged the call on Monday, received cable via courier on Tuesday. With the first cable (the original) I used the clip provided, but after reviewing the cable action after the first fault, it seemed to me that all it did was created a pivot point near the headshell of the cable as it entered the helmet. To me it appeared that by taking the headset on and off, you effectively tweaked/twisted that part of the cable up and down. You do that often enough to a wire, it will fatigue and break. The second cable (Which lasted about 7 months) I ran the cable differently, didn't use the clip and tried to make the cable as "loose" as possible so that it didn't get the movement I saw in the first cable. Which when you think about it is ridiculous since the head set is meant to be used in standing/moving situations. The third cable I have now placed a loop and when I lift the headset off and on, there is hardly any flexing of the cable around the headshell.

Before I got my own VR headset I asked a friend of mine what DCS was like in VR. He said, "It's like you're sitting in the cockpit." But what I didn't realize he meant was, "NO KIDDING! IT'S LIKE YOU'RE SITTING IN THE FREAKEN' COCKPIT!!!" Once I got my Reverb G2 there was no going back for me. 2
