Whenever I cold start up the hornet on the attached mission file, I always get a "left PTS failure" during startup. Sometimes this happens before I even turn on the batteries as shown below in this log:

Sometimes it happens after both engines have been spooled up and I'm setting up other things in the cockpit. I attached a track and log file where this occurred. Random failures are turned off.

If I create a blank new mission, I can start up the hornet there without any problems. I gave the attached bugged mission file to someone else, and he ran into the same issue as well. Is there anyway to "fix" my current mission file? I'd really rather not have to recreate everything from scratch, especially without knowing what's broken here in the first place.

Can you go through with the startup or do you have the actual symptoms of a PTS failure? (Power Transmission Shaft)

You would see GEN, BOOST LO, and HYD circuits cautions.

If it happens before my left engine is spooled, then it can no longer spool up properly. I do get the other caution indicators at the same time the log file reads PTS failure.

Hi

I have checked the mission, it does have failures set on. Try a fresh mission and let me know how you get on.

Thanks for checking! That's a bit odd though b/c when I look at the mission settings on my end, I see:

and on my overall DCS settings I see:

I just checked whether clicking on "enforce" on the random failures changes anything, and whether I put the right hand box as checked or unchecked, it doesn't prevent me from getting PTS failures.

However, if I make a completely new mission file (with the same settings as shown above), then I do not get any startup problems. Is it possible that this mission is doing something weird with my mission editor? If so, is there anyway to "fix" this mission, or do I just need to ditch it? And is there a way to prevent this from happening again? Thanks for your help

The mission file definitely has failures, if you check the miz in 7zip and open the files you can see the failures have been enabled for some of the systems. It was probably done and forgotten about.

Removing them fixed the problem. No idea how they got there but thanks!
