Getting very annoying. I lock a target with the 40 mile range selected and fire then a few seconds later the radar goes to 20 miles and drops lock. Or if I start at 20 miles it drops to 10. Usually wastes my missiles. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

Changing the range value on the MFD doesn't change the distance at which you can detect or track contacts, but just the scale of what you're seeing in the MFD.

The radar power output is not adjustable, nor controllable. If you keep losing lock, it could be related to scan volume, target aspect or defensive maneuvers.

I can't verify this as I'm not able to play the game right now, but someone on reddit mentioned that with a target locked in SAM mode the antenna elevation doesn't automatically adjust to track the target since the July 21st update. Might be a bug, but I can't say until I test it myself later today.

There‘s been a hotfix for that already, july 23rd. Sam mode works again

That shouldn't happen. The display scale automatic change is based on the TOI position. I forget the fraction of the scale but the range changes shouldn't cause TOI to leave the display and even if it did the track is not dependent on the display.

Antenna elevation in SAM AUTO still isn't forced centered on the bugged target even after hotfix.
