huchanronaa Posted July 25, 2021 Posted July 25, 2021 (edited) It is recommended to join Penguin Anti-Ship Missile for f-16c viper to increase the playability https://www.naval-technology.com/projects/penguin-anti-ship-missile/ The Norwegian Air Force installed the mk3 on the F-16c, the U.S. Navy installed it AGM-119A on the helicopter This missile has been decommissioned, no secrets at all The Penguin missile is an anti-ship missile guided by terminal infrared rays. It can design a curved flight trajectory around the island terrain by itself. An AGM-119A Penguin anti-ship missile is launched from an F-16C Fighting Falcon aircraft during testing. The F-16C is also armed with AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles The maximum range of launch from F16C is about 55 kilometers. Edited July 25, 2021 by huchanronaa

gorma Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 Absolutely unbelivable how loyal certain people are to which version of the falcon we have in DCS! No the MLU isn't the Block 50, but the world is certainly more than the us national air guard... WHO CARES!!! 3 1

No the MLU isn't the Block 50, but the world is certainly more than the us national air guard... WHO CARES!!! The problem is that there are only so many hours of developer time available. If they don't stick to a specific aircraft where do they stop? If they include the Penguin, then some else is (rightly) going to ask why their favourite weapon/system etc, then another, then another and so on. ED can't keep adding things indefinitely for no cost and there would be a good argument that they should if they DON'T stick to one specific version. 5
Silver_Dragon Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 Someone need remember ED has building a F-16C Block 50 USAF aircraft Quote It is also important to remember that all features of our Viper are in regard to a United States F-16CM Block 50, roughly M4.2+, operated in the 2007-time frame. It's got absolutely nothing to do with loyalty to a certain block or variant - I didn't get the version I wanted either. When ED says "we're delivering x" it's not exactly the twist nobody expected, when they end up delivering exactly that. On 4/6/2023 at 6:15 PM, gorma said: No the MLU isn't the Block 50, but the world is certainly more than the us national air guard... And we have enough trouble getting features fully within scope for said USAF/ANG CM Block 50 without adding more from a completely different variant and block, which would have a new set of documentation to go with it. The MLU has a completely different engine, are we expecting ED to develop that? "Because the world is more than USAF/ANG CM Block 50s"? How about the different RWR too? Or the different radar? Or should a module, that was planned to be specifically 'x', actually end up being something inconsistent and accurate to nothing, with features developed from different aircraft practically arbitrarily? Especially when doing so would be in complete contradiction to the goals of the module and the goals of the product as a whole. On 4/6/2023 at 6:15 PM, gorma said: WHO CARES!!! Developers for a start... People who want to see aircraft actually finished for another... And people who want to receive products consistent with how the product is advertised and planned for another.
