If planes not taken by client, set as AI

We need the option in ME to fill client planes with AI pilots, if they´re not occupied at mission start.
That would make a huge improvement in gameplay. We could build one (big) mission with different roles and different planes i.e. Hornets, A10s, Apaches... where every group does its thing - SEAD, CAS, Attack...

In this case you could build only one mission and choose which plane to ride. The others would then be set to AI and performed their tasks. Therefore you could play one mission from different angles of view. Once as a fast Hornet, the second time as a slow A10, the third time in a complete different feeling in a chopper...

It also would clean up the missions window which is often redundant. It also would make mission design easier.

It would be nice, but one thing to remember is that, at least right now, Servers have to keep track of everything in the air when doing Multiplayer missions, so this would have to be an option that can be turned on or off both in the mission, and in the server. After all, not everyone has a super server box capable of handling even the biggest mission loads.

This does look like a mission editor option.

This is an interesting idea that would open up a lot of new angles for the same mission. One important question to answer is how other players can then join planes, as their slot is now controlled by AI (perhaps in mid-startup), in the air, or maybe even in mid-engagement. If we can resolve this, this opens up other great options: after being shot down, take over your wingman's plane that's already in the thick of combat.

Since the planes would be there anyways, shouldn´t be a big problem at all.

Human > AI - therefore you could just kick the AI Pilot out of the cockpit and take over control as you said. Or, which would be a more arcadish way, you could create a new plane (if i.e. dead/crashed/disconnected) with status XY near your last location/tanker/wingman... but thats another story...
