Motion Smoothing, whick is essential in DCS with VR, is completely awful in VP2. In fact, I returned VP due this.

Well, Motion Smoothing is not available to the VP2, but certainly it’s Motion Compensation option is poor. Works very nicely with it switched off though. Works differently to Motion Smoothing when off as it still holds a steady 45 FPS rather than jumping around.

Yep that is what I find as well. Actually I have moved to using 120 Hz with the VP2. My fps will typically be 40 on the carrier and 60 flying around, but still smooth and a good experience. If it drops down to 30 then I start noticing stutter so I try and keep it away from 30.

Yes, me too. I’ve found I’m almost always on 60, except on SC, of course!

It seems better performance all round at 120. Looks better and feels smoother to me.

Maybe it is because the motion reprojection function of steamvr.

Sorry, not sure what you mean. No SteamVR Motion Smoothing/Reprojection options are available to the VP2.

I mean that, as far as I know, smoothing and reprojection are two different functions, and I guess that motion compensation refers to motion smoothing.

No, it doesn’t. Motion Smoothing is not switchable on in SteamVR for the VP2, and neither is Reprojection. Motion Compensation is available in Vive Console, but it doesn’t work well. See previous comments.

I see, I supposed that motion reprojection option still appears for the VP2.

I have just received the VP2, but I have some issues with the base stations, maybe not placed correctly. Need more time...

My first impression with the FOV was really good...

Don't you see any ghosting/stuttering due to the halved FPS? Mainly at low altitude looking to the trees and buildings on your side.

Nope not at all as long as it maintains min of 40 fps. At least not enough to be noticeable to me.  If it should drop down to 30 fps then yes I do see some of that, but I have my settings where I can maintain that min of 40 fps. As previously mentioned I do not use Vive's Motion Compensation, it looks horrid in the Vive Pro 2 to me.

I also notice ghosting during dogfights, and trying to identify terrain objectives becomes quite hard.

I manage for getting 45 FPS (based on the Speed-of-heat settings), but something seems to be wrong. I guess you measure the FPS with fpsVR tool.

Do you use Kegetys or FSR mods? Could you share your main settings?

From what you said in another thread, I think you’re SS is too high.
Can I suggest we move this discussion to the main VP2 one as we are way OT here?

Sure, I want to do some more tests later on, and I move to the other thread.
