gonano4 Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 Pretty much like Arma, Tools for adding content to the game without having the hability to import game content. DCS version of Arma 3 Eden: 3d view of the mission editor, put some vehicles and check if they blend well with the enviroment. DCS: Map Creation Kit, If you have the data (many countries have elevation data aviable for public use), why don't let people do their maps? It is an easy way of creating new third parties aswell. I am sure many people will like to create Vietnam or Korea. Maybe some people even reach Syria map level of details. DCS: user guide on static objects, help from ED to import into the game some unique assets that won't be able to made it to the game as they are either not military or not highly requested. Not everyone knows 3ds max btw. the posibility to remove buildings from a map via an exclussion zone. Lets say you'd like to clear a city or a forest, you could add a squared exclussion zone that removes generation of buildings/trees inside the zone, no need to access map files. we understand you have no time to waste on us, particular developers that like to create some assets for the game in an unoficial way, but this is highly neccesary so that we don't depend on a third party that takes over 5 years to accept the request of our map, asset or aircraft. The A4 is the best example of what this community is able to reach. Let it be and make the terrain easier to walk. Thanks for reading! 2
Silver_Dragon Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 (edited) To access SDK and TDK (terrain develop Kit) first need build a team, make a project and present them to ED. Convert to a company and sign a agretment to reach 3rd party status. Old mod teams has convert to 3rd parties (Beczl team after Leatherneck, IndiaFoxEcho and others). The A-4 team has none interest to convert on 3rd party and build a DCS module. 3DS Max has a industry standard on the 3D comunity. About user guide, has some documentations on the forum and videos about buildind static assets and others. Aarnoman Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 Regarding removing trees/map objects, you can already do this using trigger zones and sceneryRemoveObject command.

This isn't Arma, and the bar for creating content is a bit more complicated generally. Long asked for and generally a great idea. On 8/15/2021 at 10:42 PM, gonano4 said: DCS: Map Creation Kit Never going to happen. Maps are a direct source of revenue for ED, and having seen most of what's available on your Arma example... we're not missing out on much. DCS is not Arma. Different ecosystem, different game engine, different requirements to produce content. The A4 was produced by an entire team of dedicated individuals, over several years, operating in a semi-professional fashion. It is not representative of 90% of what the community produces. There is nothing stopping anyone from modding their own aircraft and such now, with some limitations. You can do so if desired. They're not going to just open the floodgates of mediocrity and open up their devkits to the public, though. If you really have what it takes, then submit some work to them and apply for the necessary operating license. Otherwise, content yourself with the already fairly extensive modding capacity available currrently. Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2
