Solbaru Posted August 21, 2021 Posted August 21, 2021 Are there any plans to add the BOL chaff/flare dispenser to DCS? The BOL that is in use on a number of aircraft around the world and has been in use for nearly 20 years would fix the issue of the number of chaff and flares the hornet can carry. each adds 160 chaff/flares to a weapons pylon. Always found the hornet does not have enough. more info https://www.saab.com/newsroom/press-releases/2012/successful-first-flight-for-bol-countermeasures-dispensing-system-on-f-18-in-finland wouldn't have thought it would be that hard to implement in to DCS, not just on the hornet either.

Bunny Clark Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 From your link: Quote The BOL countermeasures dispenser system is in operational service on the Royal Australian Air Force’s F/A-18 Hornet, theUKTornado,USAir Force/Air National Guard’s F-15 Eagle, EF-2000 Typhoon and the Gripen fighter. Not in use by the US Navy or Marines. So it will not be added to the DCS Hornet. Oil In The Water Hornet Campaign. Hairysteed Posted November 16, 2023 Posted November 16, 2023 (edited) 640 countermeasures - never run out of chaff or flares again! You might as well flip the dispenser switch to auto and leave it there. Because people accept that the non-USN/USMC skins are just that: skins, and they want to fly with something that looks like what they want. The underlying aircraft is USN because to make that many variants would be a nightmare to manage, not to mention the dev hours it would take. 5
