Slave TPOD to HARM Target

I'm flying with HARM and TPOD and have successfully gotten the HARMS to highlight targets in TOO mode. I'm wanting to then slave the TPOD camera to the HARM target so I can potentially use other smart weapons on it. Is this possible?

AFAIK no, not possible, as the HARM is incapable of obtaining the range data needed to create a designation point for the pod to slave to.

 

What you can do though, is designate through the HUD using the velocity vector.

It is. Been doing just that for a long time and it works just fine.

Same. It works really well.

I use it also, but not with velocity vector : too mutch stress for me to dive on a SAM threat.

JHMCS designation is better for me. When i'm enlightened : ECM on, right turn to notch and have the TPOD on the threat side. Then JHMCS designation

The SAM doesn't need to lock you up to do that. Even from 40nm you can get the diamond close enough that you can see the SAM site through the TPOD.
