G3 Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 trackir, freetrack whatever you use, it really does improve the immersion factor 10 fold. i love reading the stories of when you forget to turn it on and move your head and nothing happens, it's like what the hell  worse still when you move your head in real life and want the world to move according to your favorite profile, you gotta laugh. once again to original poster, you have made a wise choice.
uhoh7 Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Ok, stupid question. You really sure you got TCP? The headphone thingie on the left side of your head with 3 red leds? Not the metal thingie you put on a cap? My TCP doesn't work properly on Vector settings. And knowing that tracking with vector is active and TCP passive (it has it's own leds) it would be logical that vector get's no data with TCP settings as you described. So from your description it looks like you really are using vector, not TCP. Sorry if mistaken though, just first thought. hey I'm a newbie to TIR, so don't take anything for granted. Yes, its cliped to my headset and has leds. That's why I turned off "camera leds"---per suggestions above. I am 3 ft away from a 30" screen---I don't know if that affects anything. But vector works very well, TCP (in profile) terrible. GO figure. E8600 Asus P5E Radeon 4870x2 Corsair 4gb Velociraptor 300gb Neopower 650 NZXT Tempest Vista64 Samsung 30" 2560x1600
Havner Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 (edited) Yes, its cliped to my headset and has leds. That's why I turned off "camera leds"---per suggestions above. That's exactly why you should turn them off. They're needed to active tracking, to be reflected in the metal tracker. TCP got his own which are passively detected, camera doesn't need to emit enything in that configuration. EDIT: forget the above sentence, I've read: "That's why I turned ON" But vector works very well, TCP (in profile) terrible. GO figure. No idea... Edited December 17, 2008 by Havner [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

NaturalPoint_Vince Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 OK, sorry for the delay, I was away from the office yesterday. When using the TrackClip Pro, and look at the tracking screen (View -> Tracking), do you see the 3 green fasirly vertical and centered? Any red on the tracking screen? Is the TrackIR unit mounted to the left of the monitor? Support@NaturalPoint.com TrackIR - Put your head in the game http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/index.html
