i5 9700k, 64GB ram, 2070S > Rift S

I ran a online missing using my client last night.  No one else logged in.

Was fine for quite a while, happily achieving over 40fps, then I had a massive frame drop to around 10fps for something like 5-10 mins, post which, the game recovered back to it's normal frame rate again.

Any thoughts?

Please attach your Saved Games/DCS.../Scripts/Export.lua file (if you have one).

The following solutions worked for some users who were having heavy performance issues. Feel free to try them, one by one:

  1. Disable Windows slide show background.
  2. Empty both fxo and metashaders2 folders inside Saved Games/DCS.../.
  3. Disable Tacview recorder.
  4. Remove DCS from the MSI's Dragon Center (Gaming Mode menu) if you have it in.
  5. Check for any conflict between Pitools and Steam.
  6. Close OBS if you have it started by default and are not using it.
  7. Disable Windows GPU Scheduling.
  8. In the Wndows energy parameter, set High Performance.
  9. In NVIDIA parameters, add DCS for program specific settings, then switch "prefered refresh rate" option from "application-controlled" to "highest available". Launch the game (FPS not capped) then revert "prefered refresh rate" to "application-controlled".
  10. Also in NVIDIA parameters: MFAA off, FXAA off, AA transparency off, AA gamma correction off, V-sync fast (or adaptaive) + no frame rate limiter + V-sync off ingame.

Thanks, have enabled those settings where possible.

For ref, I don't run PiTools, OBS, Tacview, MSI Dragon Centre and GPU scheduling is off.

Will try again this evening.
