Maverick-GER- Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 (edited) Hi, when i open up a server on my computer, i can only choose between my hamachi ip and my lokal (LAN) IP, but my internet ip doesnt show up. I am behind a router and the default router port is forwarded (10308 ) Are there any other ports i have to forward? Any help would be very appreciated! ED Team Groove Posted November 20, 2008 ED Team Posted November 20, 2008 Are you using a router ? Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
Maverick-GER- Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 (edited) just edited when you answered. yes i have a router and I also read in the GUI manual that it can be that the router ip will show up and that it is a non valid ip for people to join the server, but there must be a way around it right? ED Team Groove Posted November 20, 2008 ED Team Posted November 20, 2008 Without the chance to validate it right now i guesstimate that your friends / players will have to connect directly to your server using the internet IP. What you could do is using DnyDNS, most Router have an option for a DynDNS Account. Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
GGTharos Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Your computer does not know your internet IP. This however is NOT a problem - when you run as a server, you will show up with the correct IP in the server browser list. Maverick-GER- Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 oh ok well i will see if people will be able to join then thx for the quick help hope it works [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] F-14 Tomcat Rest in Peace (and hopefully get reborn in DCS!) GGTharos Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Don't forget to port-forward port 10308 to your PC from the router :) Otherwise people won't be able to connect. Maverick-GER- Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 :) read first post =) it is forwarded. server is up and running will see if someone is able to join [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] F-14 Tomcat Rest in Peace (and hopefully get reborn in DCS!) EagleEye Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 (edited) Forwarding the Port 10308 should be enough. Make sure you do it for both TCP and UDP protokolls. Like Groove wrote, direct connect to your internet IP should work for other players. EDIT: server is up and running will see if someone is able to join...Cool, would be great to have a German server for some MP fun. Outlawed Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I use a linksys wireless router and I didnt have to port anything. But I had to turn off the DMZ feature. After that it worked like a charm. Maybe that will help. Happy rotoring!

Maverick-GER, keep us posted on what happens, and if you want to troubleshoot each others servers, pm me...:book:
nemises Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 It is no problem.. simply visit this site: http://whatismyip.com/ and it will tell you your internet facing IP. give that to your friends and start the server...job done. Your router will take care of the NAT / port forwarding (assuming you have forwarded port 10308 to your local IP from your router config).
Maverick-GER- Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 ok just by starting up the server no one came on... i dont know if it even showed up in the dcs serverbrowser... but it was up for around 5 hours without anyone on it. will make another test prolly with r-unit (didnt have more time for it today will pm you) but thanks for the help and suggestions again [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] F-14 Tomcat Rest in Peace (and hopefully get reborn in DCS!) r-unit Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 Still no joy... is it correct that the server constantly changes the port? task manager showed no network activity, when hosting with my Dlink router. Ports were forwarded, windows firewall was turnned off. Very strange... but i bite the bullett and host with a direct connection, bypassing router... I would like to use router but if i can't i can't. Soon as i hit start.......... network activity ceases.
