Swift. Posted October 29, 2021 Posted October 29, 2021 (edited) The STEP function of the SA Page only works when TDC is not assigned to the SA Page. When the TDC is assigned to the SA page it displays a behaviour of snapping the cursor to the previous STEP track without actually showing the STEP symbology. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted October 29, 2021 ED Team Posted October 29, 2021 I will need to check with the team, my understanding is the cursor and the step box are mutually exclusive. The reason I reported this is because the logic has changed from how it used to behave. Previously, STEP would command the step box on the highest priority track and then cycle down through the tracks after each successive press. And if you had a TUC on the SA page then it would command the step box to the TUC. But now it works 'correctly' when TDC isn't assigned to the page, but with TDc assigned to the page. You can no longer command a step box on any track, even though the button still moves the cursor. 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest 2
Harker Posted October 29, 2021 Posted October 29, 2021 I will need to check with the team, my understanding is the cursor and the step box are mutually exclusive. They are mutually exclusive, but not in that way. The functionality should be:* With or without the TDC assigned to the SA page, STEP will place the box over the highest priority contact, moving down the list. L&S, DT2, remaining ranks etc and then cycle back.* When STEP is active, the TDC will disappear. * If the TDC is slewed on the SA page while STEP is active, the STEP box will disappear and the TDC will show up at the place of the box.It was actually working correctly until now, except for some wonkiness with the STEP priority list. Also, the STEP box should be black on the inside and hide everything behind it, so you can clearly read the info on your target. 1 The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. MARLAN_ Posted October 29, 2021 Posted October 29, 2021 Relevant to the topic: As far as I've been told, the TDC should also be "sticky" and latch onto a track. For example if you place the cursor over a track and let go, if you turn, or the track moves, the cursor will follow it. I'm not sure what software version this is from, but it's for the F/A-18C 1 Virtual CVW-8 - The mission of Virtual Carrier Air Wing EIGHT is to provide its members with an organization committed to presenting an authentic representation of U.S. Navy Carrier Air Wing operations in training and combat environments based on the real world experience of its real fighter pilots, air intercept controllers, airbosses, and many others.
