My father was a RC modeller back in the '80 when I was a kid so I got kinda addicted to it. We were flying those beauties every now and then and fixing and maintaining them over the winter. My father built his first RC model back in the '74 but that model is unfortunately shred to toothpics.

The oldest bird in our inventory is this red/white Hi Boy precedent from '82.

This bird had no mishaps so far (over 500 hours of flight) and it still runs original engine. RPM is good too:

Bird is pretty difficult to fly because of it's Wortmann FX2 airfoil profile that requires speed and is pretty unstable at low speed. Remember, I have no flaps here.

This one here is the latest in the family:

It's a typical Clark Y airfoil and a fun to fly.

Are there any other RC guys here at Forums.Eagle?!

Cheers!

I recently got started with RC Flying and Now I'm hooked on it.

It's never too late to start. I'm a 43 year old rookie of the RC world. I went into it the cheapest way and by no means the easiest. By this I mean, I have not bought a ARF to a RTF plane. The way I started is. I bought me a 70 dollar Airtronics 6 Ch. Radio and RX. I went to a local RC shop and bought some 5g. servos a 2 to 5 Cell Charger, a Battery Ballancer, and CA Glue bottles with hardener and I ordered online an 3S 1800 Lipo Batt. Elect. Motor combo with charger.

Yeap, I bought everything I needed to make my own from scratch out of Bluecor foam sheets.

I have built 3 planes one has all the equipment and the others are waiting for a high gust of wind that will send adversary straight into the ground. The first one I built that I still fly is a Blue Angels F-22.....

It took me 1 week working for about 2 hours a day to finish my first Foamy. I built the Golem's Plane-Blu F-22 Link--- http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...hlight=Blu+F+22

Like I said, it's not the easiest way to start, but if I had bought a RTF one... it would have been destroyed a long time ago by my lack of experience in flight. This thing can take a hit and keep on chucking along at a mere 55 MPH

I have in waiting a Mig 29 with vector thrusting in line to receive the equipment..

I flew soaring planes (mainly 60 inches ridge soaring ones). My best aircraft was a french little racer, Airtech Pixel, very peculiar one with pitcheron control (meaning, tail is fixed, whole wings move, two powerful servos do the roll-elevation actions):

Although I'm not flying RC planes myself (yet), I like to visit RC events now and then.

Two weeks ago I visited the RC Heliparts Scale meeting 2010 in Hulten, Netherlands (near Gilze-Rijen airbase)

Here are some pictures of the models that were displayed there:

#2. EC-135 (turbine), what a sound!
