Lib Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 hi, as i still have my problem of micro-freezes during flying, i think i'm going to re-install all my computer and windows. But i would like to know if it is possible to save the starforce register key like it was with Lock on. I don't find the file or the application to do it, anybody knows ? Thanks in advance.

Lib Posted November 24, 2008 Author Posted November 24, 2008 Well it seems to be a hard question, i'm certainly going to burn an activation ....:(
Esac_mirmidon Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 I have just burned one of mines because a catastrophic graphic card failure. Format and reinstall my OS only 5 days since i bought my copy of BS and one activation lost. Only other remains. Y wish DCS-ED could be kind enough like with FC and send more activations if you show they a proof about purchase and you have spent all. " You must think in russian.." That's such a no-brainer. I bought rus version. I will buy eng version. I have old computer, to weak to run BS except low on everything. I am building new computer shortly. So I figured, install on old, learn, deactivate the reactivate on new. NP Then I learn about the points. WTF. I don't care about SF or whatever, and I'm really psyched about BS, but this even has me pissed. Teo Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 (edited) Hi, Start regedit.exe (start->run->regedit) and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software->Eagle Dynamics, and from there, right click the Black Shar "folder" and select Export. Save the exported file somewere safe. When you have reinstalled your OS, double click your exported .reg file to import it into the registry again. That worked for me anyway... Just remember to use the same install path on the re-install! Otherwise, you may have to edit the .reg to show the new install path. pit MOBO ASUS P5QL-Pro, Intel Q9550 2.8Ghz @ 3.5 GHZ, 8GB DDR2 Crucial, XFX HD6950, TM Warthog, TIR4 /w Pro-Clip, 24 In Samsung Syncmaster LED, 2 X Cheapo 8in LCD's for MFD's and TM MFCD's attached to it, Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
tusler Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Look at How to recover an activation post. I put a PDF I found in there that keeps you from loosing your activation or key! Oh, sorry, i see your problem, Starforce register key, I would be asking the Starforce folks I'm sure they would know. Ask Jesus for Forgiveness before you takeoff :pilotfly:! EvilBivol-1 Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 I may not be understanding this well, but why are you not using the deactivation option? - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules
uhoh7 Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 (edited) I may not be understanding this well, but why are you not using the deactivation option? In my case, it's the points thing. Deactivate on your old machine, activate on your new, you still loose one of only three chances, because a CPU is 13 points. I think many are finding they burn through activations for simple hardware changes, because of the points system outlined in the FAQ. If we knew worst case we could contact DCS for a new key with proof of purchase, as is possible in FC, this would not be an issue, and you would have many happy customers. Quite a few are upset about this issue. Edited December 7, 2008 by uhoh7 E8600 Asus P5E Radeon 4870x2 Corsair 4gb Velociraptor 300gb Neopower 650 NZXT Tempest Vista64 Samsung 30" 2560x1600
EvilBivol-1 Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 (edited) As far as I understand, this should not be the case. When the product is deactivated, your current activation is deactivated. When you activate again, you should be merely reactivating your previous activation. Say you are on activation 1 (original activation). You deactivate. You upgrade/re-install OS. You activate #1 again. You can do this up to 10 times. You should only need to use activation #2 if you performed the upgrade without having deactivated #1 prior. In that case, you will be using up a second activation. In effect, the tree activations allow you to install Black Shark on three different computers. Those three computers can then keep their activations by using deactivations whenever they are upgraded. Edited December 7, 2008 by EvilBivol-1 - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Frosties Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Looked through the FAQ regarding the activations. If all of the activiations are used, will there be no more to recieve and you have to buy a whole new serial? Or will they be re-filled after all are used? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Vincere Est Totum

Only problem is that installing software or virtual drivers.. ( No hardware changes) already causes a problem. Would you deactivate and re-activate for every piece of software you install? I had this problem when I installed Hamachi ( which installs a virtual NIC ), and Shrubbo installed some other piece of SW and it wanted him to reactivate as well.. This is not very customer friendly.
