It's with today patch (2.7.8). BTW pretty sure this bug is very recent. Tested it several times in the last few months and had no problem. Edited November 18, 2021 by Mad_Shell

Same thing for the Ka-50 and Mi-28N. Only the Mi-24P shoots its missiles first. Reported. Edited December 22, 2021 by Flappie 1 ---
ED Team [ED]Ben Posted December 23, 2021 ED Team Posted December 23, 2021 Hellfires K are not really considered a valid weapon for A2A engagements, so it is correct that they are not used first. They have a very low probability of hitting an air target, and this can result in the AI using all its A2G ordanance to no avail and being unable to complete primary mission. However if you really want them to be used, this can be forced by setting 'missile' in the attack options.

However if you really want them to be used, this can be forced by setting 'missile' in the attack options. They have a very low probability of hitting a jet, but they're effective against helicopters. In DCS, when the AI fires a hellfire against a helicopter it has a very high probability of hit, and IRL the Hellfire proved effective against relatively slow moving targets like drones. The new american SHORAD uses the AGM 114L as an A/A weapon, and in some US Army student manual it is stated that if a US helicopter encounters an enemy helicopter, firing a hellfire as soon as it's in range is the thing to do.
