nighteyes2017 Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 (edited) Most noticable when watching the F18 from the front in outside view. Starting max zoomed in its ok. Then, zooming out you'll start hearing propellor engine sounds. Only hearable when flying btw. start happening above mach 0.7. slower than that is fine. above it increases in volume and pitch Edited December 12, 2021 by nighteyes2017 additional info 1
ED Team btd Posted December 13, 2021 ED Team Posted December 13, 2021 Check your sound mods. From our side the sound should be like in the attached video: f18demo.mp4 Best regards, Kanstantsin Kuzniatsou (btd) https://soundcloud.com/btd
ED Team btd Posted December 13, 2021 ED Team Posted December 13, 2021 Ah, I think I understand what you mean. This has been discussed more than once. perhaps you are talking about an unusual sound that appears after 0.75 Mach speed and with a low angle of attack. Yes, indeed, it looks a bit like some kind of prop aircraft sound. But this is in real life. Check how it sounds on the flyby (F3-camera). And if you look for more videos of FA18 flybys with the parameters I mentioned above, you will definitely find it. Best regards, Kanstantsin Kuzniatsou (btd) https://soundcloud.com/btd
nighteyes2017 Posted December 14, 2021 Author Posted December 14, 2021 Well, i could not find the sound on any flyby i tried on youtube. So to be sure i made a quick vid with the sound i'm hearing. No sound mods installed btw.
Tholozor Posted December 14, 2021 Posted December 14, 2021 I believe that sound is the beginning of the Hornet flyby 'howl,' but since the camera is moving at the same speed as the aircraft, the sound is distorted. Should sound normal in F3. ED Team btd Posted December 14, 2021 ED Team Posted December 14, 2021 And that's how it sounds in DCS: Maybe even it should be louder and with larger radius, I will check later Best regards, Kanstantsin Kuzniatsou (btd) https://soundcloud.com/btd
