twistking Posted January 2, 2022 Posted January 2, 2022 (edited) Hello, there are images floating around of F-16Cs carrying dual Lau-68 on a TER, as well as carrying dual LAU-3 on a TER. Unguided rockets are underrated and it would be great, if we could get some more options regarding those. Lau-3 on TERs would really add firepower, while availability of Lau-68 would add many options for lighter loadouts... *edit* not sure anymore about lau-3 on TER, but lau-68 on TER is definitely a thing. Deano87 Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 I’ve only personally seen pics of LAU-68 on TERs. I’d be very interested to see pics of the bigger LAU-3 on a TER. Link them if you’ve got em! Deano87 Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 (edited) They are LAU-68, not LAU-3. The LAU-3 has a diameter of ~400mm which is only a little smaller than a Mk-84 bomb. The LAU-68 has a diameter of ~260mm which is a little smaller than the ~270mm of a Mk-82 or GBU-12 Its easy to see in that pic that they are slightly smaller than the body of the GBU-12s on the other wing. LAU-3 on a TER looks much more crowded. As seen here on an F4 Phantom.
