Frosties Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Me and a friend was flying the other night, trying to learn a bit more of the systems. We tried the target sharing system. Is it possible to fly around, spot a AAA vehicle, and mark it on the map and it will show up on their screen? We looked in the manual, but as usual i couldnt find exactly what we looked for. Anyone had better luck? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Vincere Est Totum
Cp Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Have you watched the Producers note about the Data link? If not, here you go, part 1 and 2:
sobek Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 You might want to check out the producer's note video [1] about the data link if you haven't already. If i understood correctly, it covers what you want to know. [1] available from http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=133&scr=products&lang=en Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Schutz Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Study the Datalink system. All is not covered in the producers note. We had a Swedish coop with three Hokums last night practicing just what you are wondering about. I might have my server up tonight as well if you want to fly and practice, all done in shameless svengelsk-ryska såklart..;) Fly mig ett privat meddelande om/när du vill flyga isf.
Dreamboy Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I've still not tryed multiplayer mode. Can you tell me Schutz if there's some kind of voice IP communication on multiplayer?
Acedy Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Currently there is no built in VoIP support, but Eagle are looking into that. You have to use Teamspeak, Ventrillo etc. for the time being. Regarding the data link, you can also have a look at this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=579108&postcount=40 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] *** SERVMAN SERVER MANAGEMENT MOD V2 FOR DCS:BS V1.0.1 *** *** VERSION FOR FC2 ***
Teo Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I've still not tryed multiplayer mode. Can you tell me Schutz if there's some kind of voice IP communication on multiplayer? Unfortunately there is no viocecomms ingame (only text chat), you have to use some third party product like TeamSpeak.
Dreamboy Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Thanks for confirming it. I agree it would be great to have voice IP included inside DCS as doing multiplayer with text chat while piloting the Ka-50 and trying to attack targets would be crazy.
Schutz Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 We used good old typing to go through the datasystem, it takes a hover tho..;) A realistic simulation of a radiosystem would be a DREAM for sure. Even just a audio effect on teamspeak that makes it SOUND like a radio would be nice.
baksie Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Flight lead put your DataLink ID to 1, others to 2,3 or 4. Then using the DataLink panel (upper front right) you assign targets and igress points to your wingmen. It works in MP too.
