RackMonkey Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Since the G2 has to use Steam to run the HMD that somebody has already seen this problem and has a solution for me. I put my computer to bed one night and the next morning found that I couldn't adjust the resolution in SteamVR on a per app basis. I logged into my Steam account and got what you see here... I was hoping it was maintenance but no luck. I've been waiting a week. I can get to my account going to VIEW\SMALL but I still can't adjust the resolution per app. I have completely uninstalled anything that has to do with Steam and reinstalled it but that didn't work either. I've install Steam on another computer in the house and Steam seems to work in a normal fashion there but because it's not setup for VR I don't know if I can make resolution adjustments from there. I can browse the store and my library on it. I can't say I'm familiar with Steam. I only use it because I have to in order to use my G2. Brainfreeze Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Resolution is set through settings in SteamVR, not the Steam app for me. once SteamVr is running (smaller window) go to settings / video. That's how I do it i9 14900K / 64GB / RTX 4090 / Varjo Aero / Winwing Orion2 + F15EX / Virpil Wrbrd + Alpha Stick + ACE pedals
johnnychemo Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 The app you want to have specific settings for has to be running too I believe.
RackMonkey Posted January 10, 2022 Author Posted January 10, 2022 It is, I do and no it doesn't have to be running. It just has to be "registered" in you library. But it's not working correctly it's not reading my library so I don't get a per app choice. Gigabyte X670, 7800 X3D, 2X1TB NvME, RTX4090, 32GB DDR5 , Pimax Crystal
VpR81 Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 Can you enter your libary in small mode? I mean, do you have your games listed there? If so, try to do a repair for SteamVR. Right click on SteamVR in your libary, Click on properties -> Local files -> Verify integrity of tool files. If that doesen't help, i'd give switching to SteamVR Beta a try: Right click on SteamVR -> Properties -> Betas -> select "beta - SteamVR Beta Update". You can also try this with WMR for SteamVR, but i'm not sure if this is related. RackMonkey Posted January 11, 2022 Author Posted January 11, 2022 I tried that to start with. In small mode the properties won't open for me to make any changes. That's one of the reasons I tried to completely uninstall it, but uninstall doesn't really uninstall everything. Some things are left to fuck with you. I may have to try to use a restore point and I'm not sure that will work. Gigabyte X670, 7800 X3D, 2X1TB NvME, RTX4090, 32GB DDR5 , Pimax Crystal
M1Combat Posted January 11, 2022 Posted January 11, 2022 It would be awesome if you changed the title to something slightly useful. 1 Nvidia RTX3080 (HP Reverb), AMD 3800x Asus Prime X570P, 64GB G-Skill RipJaw 3600 Saitek X-65F and Fanatec Club-Sport Pedals (Using VJoy and Gremlin to remap Throttle and Clutch into a Rudder axis)
RackMonkey Posted January 12, 2022 Author Posted January 12, 2022 I got the normal Steam page back. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I don't know myself. I got into the really big screen and setting and just started playing with the display options. At some point I shut it all down and when I restarted Steam was normal again. I added DCS to my favorites and library. Now I can change resolutions with out having to start DCS. Gigabyte X670, 7800 X3D, 2X1TB NvME, RTX4090, 32GB DDR5 , Pimax Crystal
