I have posted at the Ubi site, and also sent in a tech request, but I doubt Ubi will do anything.

So I am having trouble with LOMAC when connected to my TV. It is a Samsung HL-P5663W, widescreen DLP.

Everything works fine, except LOMAC.

When trying to load LOMAC, the computer sits there and loads for a few seconds, like normal, but when it tries to render the windows it crashes.

The error signature is:

AppName: lockon.exe

AppVer: 1.0.0.1

ModName: dxrenderer.dll

ModVer: 0.0.0.0

Offset: 00035ea1

All DXDiag tests have been ran OK

Ravenshield works

Call of Duty works

Unreal Tournament works

The only possible thing I can think of is LOMAC doesnt support widescreen resolutions?

What are the supported resolutions for LOMAC?

Re: Help! Connecting to TV

So I am having trouble with LOMAC when connected to my TV. It is a Samsung HL-P5663W, widescreen DLP.

It's not a TV problem.

Usually if your TV can't support the signal, it will go blank or fry.

A TV can usually support 640x480 and most newer ones will support 800x600.

Anything greater requires a adapter to convert to your tv.

My All in Wonder (9800 pro) supports HDTV out (1900x1200@60hz), but is useless because you cannot read any text (I have 50" mitsubishi and it supports up to 1024x768...text is a bit blurry)

Maybe for the heck of it, I'll try to play lomac in high-def.. I won't be able to read the menus but I think I can click thru to try it.

Since the Superbowl is this weekend, I probably give it a go in a few weeks. (I'll probably get 1 frame per week in the game)

Be very careful in what you are doing. If you try to do a higher resolutions and your card sends a higher scan frequencies than you tv can handle,

you have a good chance of frying your tv.

You have two choices..

Configure your PC to the resolution types of the monitor, or tell your tv to support 4:3 ratios in it's setup menu.

A 4:3 ratio resolution for your monitor would be 800x600, 1280x960, 1900x1200 (- i "think" these are right)

There are numerous groups out there on the net that can better help you if you wish to dig further...(avforums comes to mind...)

Thanks,

Brett

My desktop is @ 1280x720

I have tried changing the graphics.cfg file for 800x600 which the TV also supports.

Also, the TV has both a DVI and an SVGA input.

I am using the SVGA right now, I just read the release notes for the latest Nvidia drivers, and it appears they have added some support for DVI and HDTV. So I will try that in an hour when I get home.

Also, I got a screen shot of the setup menu, and the game should support 1280x720 ok, so I am even more flustered now.....

UGH!

What is your COLOR setup in graphics option?

LOMAC crushes in 16bit mode in some systems.

Try 32bit.

For wide screen monitor, you have to set resolution and aspect in graphics.cfg manually.

In your case, it should be like below.

Simulation

{

resolution = {1280, 720};

bpp = 32;

fullscreen = 1;

aspect = 1.777777778;

}

I use 1280x768 screen and it works fine.

I will try 32bit color, I have it @ 16bit now.

Also, I tried the DVI connector, no good

Tried the video out with S-Video, no good

I will try setting the graphics.cfg like you noted.

As posted on UBI forums......

I have used it on my Monitor and projector. I was able to play it on Analog, Dvi and s-video, from my 9800pro.

This is what i havein the graphics.cfg file........

DisplayMode

{

resolution = {1024, 768};

bpp = 32;

fullscreen = 1;

aspect = 1.333333373;

Interface

{

resolution = {1024, 768};

bpp = 32;

fullscreen = 1;

}

Simulation

{

resolution = {1280, 720};

bpp = 32;

fullscreen = 1;

aspect = 1.78;

}

Please note that the interface must be run at a 4:3 ratio to avoid a few graphical glitches, but it does not stop it from running the program.

On my ati card i have to set the screen i want lomac to run on as the primary display. After that it behaves as normal.

Hope that helps

Also you should look into Power strip....

You can Google for it, the software is down loadable from the internet (sounds familure dosen't it . :lol: ) Although theyre forum is down at the moment

It's also share ware, so you'll have to purcase it, but after 1 year , and its quite inexpensive......

And one other thing the new Invdeia drivers are also quite good in this respect as well...

These tools do help with the adjustments and tweeking , you just have to make sure that you get every thing adjusted on a monitor before you plug in the HDTV and never adjust the TV over 60 HZ....

Good luck guys and remember easy does it...... :D

I finally got it working. The problem was, the vertical resolution cant go above 720.

800x600 works, and everything that is below 720. Now with the DVI, the res can go to 1920xsomething, but for some reason LOMAC still wasnt working.

I installed again and now it works.
