Jeepyb Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 Is there a way to set your "own ID" in the Hornet's DL the same way we do in the A10's SADL ? Seems like it defaults to the default callsigns assigned by the mission editor but I'd like to be able to punch in something else... 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Callsign: BUNZ https://www.5vwing.com/
Tholozor Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 (edited) Currently no. Same thing for setting flight members. MARLAN_ Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 If it wasn't obvious already from Tholozor, we should be able to, depends whenever ED have time to add it. IIRC this would be set on the MIDS page. Could set your Datalink ID (EG CT11) and your flight letter (A,B,C,D, etc) it goes past D but I forget how far, maybe up to H, I'd have to ask. 1 Virtual CVW-8 - The mission of Virtual Carrier Air Wing EIGHT is to provide its members with an organization committed to presenting an authentic representation of U.S. Navy Carrier Air Wing operations in training and combat environments based on the real world experience of its real fighter pilots, air intercept controllers, airbosses, and many others.
WobblyFlops Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 (edited) As evidenced by the ED manual, when it comes to the Hornet, datalink configuration options are deemed to stray too close to sensitive areas so I highly doubt we'll get anything like even the A-10. At this point, it doesn't need to be realistic, just functional in DCS. Can be anything, such as specifying a certain F/F 1 code can act as a way to set up your flight callsign and F/F 2 can be the flight number. Example: F/F 1 = 153, 15 = Joker, 3 = Joker 3 flight. F/F 2 = 2. Result, Joker 3-2. 3 The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. Join the vCVW-17 Discord.
