SkKsSkA Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 (edited) My resolution is 1080p, and I think about getting 3070Ti(I saw one guy recommended in forum)either 6700xt(it has 12gb vRam(does it matter?)) Edited March 6, 2022 by SkKsSkA
Svsmokey Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 If you are running at 60hz , either of those cards would be overkill . If running at a higher refresh , or contemplating upgrading to an ultrawide or 1440p monitor , either will work . 12gb vram would certainly be helpful in VR , but not so much at 1080p . 9700k @ stock , Aorus Pro Z390 wifi , 32gb 3200 mhz CL16 , 1tb EVO 970 , MSI RX 6800XT Gaming X TRIO , Seasonic Prime 850w Gold , Coolermaster H500m , Noctua NH-D15S , CH Pro throttle and T50CM2/WarBrD base on Foxxmounts , CH pedals , Reverb G2v2

SkateZilla Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 (edited) Wait. Prices will drop in the next 60-90 Days, RTX4x, RX7K, and Intel GPUs come out later this year. as for RX6700XT vs 3070ti, the 3070TI matches to the 6800XT by more or less than 2%, The 6700XT has slower Ram, and a smaller Bus, More Ram isnt always better Edited March 6, 2022 by SkateZilla Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs

DCS uses 90+%vRam at any circumstances. Ram Consumption is based on settings, I run a 12 yr old R7970 Lightning w/ 3GB of Ram just fine, as long as MSAA or SSAA is off. But like I said, the AMD 6700XT and 6800XT's have smaller bus width and lower spec ram chips, so even though it's more memory, it's slower and on a narrower bus. DCS on 1080P will be fine with 8 GB, unless you over sample to 4K and Overcrank every texture setting.
