No... not political...

Footage of a Russian Su-25 after it made it back to base.  Looks like a MANPAD hit.

There's a video out there in youtube dating from the the first days showing a Su-25 pressing into attack despite being hit during the run. Tiny missile / flying tank. Still surreal to watch.

I heard one was damaged in Afghanistan by the mujandeen and flew back

It is as tough as the American A-10

Su-25s are tough, although not quite as cleverly arranged as the A-10, meaning it's easier to take a hit in the engine. I wish we had an FF version in DCS, the FC3 one is a joy to fly.

Oh, they're tough alright.

I think that's a concession for the higher transonic speed range it flies at. It'd have to slow down quite a bit if it had those big ears poking out.
