1) master arm on

2) WASup the gun

3)press B6 on L MFD

4) enter A into keyboard unit, press enter

Gun remains in manual fixed range.

Interestingly, the autoranging is reflected in the HMD overlay with the 

TADS as well as the TEDAC. However, the gun page on the left MFD continues to display manual 3000.

The MANRNG readout on the weapon page at B6 will always read the last entered manual range value.  It never says A or Auto or anything except a manual range number, even if you enter auto-range. The only indication of auto-range being used is the A in the symbology.

Auto-Range is calculated using geometry based on your TADS elevation look-down angle and the radar altimeter.  No laser ranging is used.

Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man.
