IHADSS is misaligned in VR(Reverb G1)?

Hi All,

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why my bullets are so far off where I'm aiming the gun. I saw in Wag's cold start video, he uses the LOS Reticle to do the IHADSS Borsighting to get the circles spaced out properly. However, I cannot do that. My LOS Reticle sits really high in my VR headset. I just move my head around until the circles are properly spaced to boresight. I've noticed by default, the F.O.V. box sits really high inside the F.O.R. box as you should be able to see in the attached track. In the screenshot, I show where I aimed and where the bullets landed. As you can see nowhere near each other. I know the gun isn't meant to be a sniper, but it should not be this far off. I'm really hoping it's something I'm doing wrong and not a bug. Can someone PLEASE look at this short track and let me know what I'm doing wrong? It's driving me crazy.

Thanks in advance!!!

I've got a Reverb G2 and found that I start sitting way too high in every module when using VR. Try moving your cockpit camera down - I have to do this every time, so I have bound the key to my arrow keys (I don't need it for pitch down).

In options, go to View Cockpit - Cockpit Camera and bind it to a button or key of your choice. Or, default for down is RCTRL + RShift + NUM 2

Are you setting range to auto, or using laser ranging with CPG?

Ok, so this is kinda what I've discovered. I have to really move my head position around to get the LOS Reticle to work with the BRU Pattern. That's the key. To get the reticle as close to the center of the pattern as possible. Once I get that working my aiming works. Looks like your suggestion is much easier than me manually moving my head around like a fool. I'll give it a try.

I set range to auto in the pilot seat. I'm still trying to figure out how to fly this amazing bird, so, I haven't even touched the CPG seat yet.

Unfortunately, this did not help. I still have to move my body & head around to get the reticle close to the pattern's center.

As someone else suggested, this is probably a range thing. You have to enter the range manually - click the OSB (bottom of the MFD) for MRANGE on the WPN page, then you can type in a number on the in-cockpit keypad, or A (then Enter) for Auto. When you WAS something else and come back to gun you will have to do it again.

Default is 3000m, so that’s probably why you’re over-shooting.

I'm mainly practicing with the gun and I always set the range to Auto. I've heard if you WAS another weapon and go back, you have to input your range again. But like I said, I always use Auto.

Did you use Boresight option and aligned the sight (if you start from Cold and dark?).

OK, sorry. Because your Point of Impact was higher than your Point of Aim, I thought that might be the cure. Hopefully the hivemind can provide a solution?

I have to move my head around a bit to boresight as well, but adjust the cockpit camera so that I really only have to move my head left - right - up down and don't have to 'crouch' or 'lean' too much left or right.

Yes, that's what we're talking about.

Yes, sorry, I spotted that you’d said this as soon as I posted, hence my post was deleted 😉

If HOT start is selected, it workes without the boresight-procedure.
If COLD start is selected, I can't get it work, even with boresight procedure.

I fly in VR, Oculus Rift CV1

Edit: obviously, this is the solution for the moment, you might wanna give it a try:

FYI, in VR, just getting the LOS Reticle inside of the Boresight Reticle Unit and disregarding the circles works for me and others. It may not be the way it was intended but it works. ED has not confirmed if this is a bug or not.
