What you think is better?
I know more VRAM is not always better, but i am not sure if 8gb will realy perform good if i cant upgrade in 4-5 years again?
Other Games i play (Squad, Post Scriptum, Hell Let Loose).

Now i have a GTX 1060 and i dont like that i did not invest in a GTX 1070 back in 2016 wich would have 8gb and is nowdays still good. But what in few years?
So many cards now have more Vram and i have feeling games will use it soon and this may brings lttile problems with only 8gb vram. Even if its fast Vram, if you run out of video memory it can cause framedrops.

Now its like 6gb Vram is minimum but 8gb is better. Later maybe 8gb minimum but 10-12 better.

I still play in 1080p and for DCS no VR by the way.

Consider the RTX3060Ti 8GB instead of the RTX3070 8GB. Right now, the price difference is still too big for such small performance difference.
Basically, any RTX3060Ti triple-fan model is good (Gigabyte OC PRO the most recommended), it's considerably less expensive and works just as good, more so when undervolted (can post more details if interested).

Yes, the bigger ammount of VRAM with AMD RX6700XT (12GB vs 8GB) is tempting, but there's a lot more going into a GPU than that.
The AMD RX6700XT 12GB is more or less generally equivalent in performance with games, but DCS is kind of an exception - it blatantly favours Nvidia over AMD (performance is more stable, far less stuttering down low, better 0.1% and 1% framerate values, with Nvidia).

DCS uses deferred rendering engine. Using deferred renderers can have potentially high memory bandwidth cost (increasingly so the higher resolution you go).
Because AMD has architecture with smaller memory bandwith (RX6700XT = Memory Bus 192 bit, Bandwidth 384.0 GB/s, versus RTX3060Ti =  Memory Bus 256 bit, Bandwidth 448.0 GB/s), it favours Nvidia when it comes to DCS use. Add to that also the Nvidia drivers, being still more stable/advanced/mature drivers (better, IMO).

Regardless, these will all be equally fantastic for 1080P, but consider all this before investing, especially if going higher resolution (1440P+) sometime later.

Basically what Lucshep said. DCS is a strange one as what it needs to perform well changes as the resolution increases. 1440p and below I found AMD cards to be slightly faster and smoother. However once you go to 1440p ultrawide or 4k you need an Nvidia card with a larger memory bandwidth.

Both the 6700xt and the 3070 will do 1440p capped at 60fps just fine, the AMD card will probably be a little smoother though, especially if its paired with a Freesync monitor. If you going to stick to 1080p, get a 3060ti.

Some good Points @LucShep and thx for the Data!

For the RTX 3060ti and 3070 on Benchmarks with 1080p the 3070 gives between 10-20 FPS more. That can make quite a difference. So i am not sure, but good advise specialy cause Prices.

Btw i forgot to mention i use and 6700k, but maybe i can get in 1-2 years a little upgrade to 9700k/9900k before upgrade to newer CPU with new Mainboard.

RTX 3070 costs atm arround 800€

For ~900€ i could get a new PC with 11400F and a RX 6600. Would that be maybe smarter?
The 6600 for sure is not so strong but with the CPU and for just 100€ more i am not sure about what would be better.

Thx also for you answere @Bossco82

Mostly i am happy with my FPS currently worst cause is on Multiplayer-Server like Buddyspike with a Heli (~40-45FPS)
With Jets on Ground like 50+ FPS, But without MSAA you get this flicker.

This are my Settings ony my current System:  i6700k@4ghz + GTX 1060 + 32gb@3200 + SSD 870 EVO

https://ibb.co/cb8Wk1F

I cant fly KA-50 because the Vikhr Missile drops to ~15fps like in the VIdeo.

I dont know if you guys know Squad, but In Squad, Post Scriptum i have currently drops to 40 on some maps and would like to get stable 60+ on Ultra

For DCS i would like to play with MSAA some higher settings than now. (shadow, Water, Forest Visibility).
My Goal here would be to have all time 60+FPS even on Ground.

Would you go for the 3060ti/3070 or maybe the 11400F+RX6600 in that case?

Sry for my eng.

I'll go through points (yeah, I write too much, be patient with me), so that you can introspect about it and maybe help you decide:

1. The RTX3060Ti is 5% to 10% slower than an RTX3070, but the former is also over 20% less expensive than the latter (RTX3060Ti = 650,00€,  RTX3070 = 800€).
The RTX3060Ti is just a slightly cutdown version of the RTX3070.
If you undervolt an RTX3060Ti (1980Mhz core/8000Mhz mem @ 925mv, tutorial here) you'll be getting equivalent performance as a stock RTX3070, while running less voltage than factory defaults (so, a win win!). As to say, if you do it, you basically get the faster product, but at a more affordable price. 🙂 That's why they've been selling like hot cakes.

2. A system such as i7 6700K@4ghz + 32gb@3200Mhz + SSD 870 EVO is very decent, even today. With just the GPU upgrade (RTX3060Ti or RX6700XT) it'll get a huge boost.
That'll be better than the combo of i5 11400F+RX6600, in my opinion. The thing is, while the i5 11400F is a great processor, the RX6600 is not a great GPU (certainly not for DCS).

TLDR:  either get an RTX3060Ti 8GB triple-fan model, or get an RX6700XT 12GB, whichever is least expensive and fits best your preference (Nvidia vs AMD, etc, etc).
Either way, and if at 1080P, your goals will be met - though remember: this is DCS. Even a NASA computer can struggle with this sim/game at some point, I'm pretty certain.
Seriously, t
he jump in performance from your GTX1060 will be immense. 🙂

Thx for help!
Will think about it again, but going atm more for rtx3060ti then i guess.

Undervolting i will definetly with whatever card. I did this with my gtx1060 after very late, like after 3 years and its great. Next Card this i will do in Day 1 for suere 🙂
