sirrah Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 I assume this is not a bug or WIP as I haven't seen it being reported yet. When changing the default weapon range to "auto", why doesn't it say something like "AUTO" on the MPD? E.g. when you change gun range from 1500 to auto, the MPD still indicates 1500. I know you can see the "A" appear in the IHADSS, but wouldn't it make sense that the MPD would show "AUTO" as well. Any particular reason why this isn't the case? Or is it just laziness on McDonnell Douglas' side? coolts Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 My bugbear as pilot is that there's no indication when switching from TADS to PNVS at all apart from a flicker. Unless i've missed it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 9700k | 32gb DDR4 | Geforce 2080ti | TrackIR 5 | Rift S | HOTAS WARTHOG | CH PRO Pedals
bradmick Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 (edited) Nope, whatever was last set in the MANRNG window on the WPN page will stay. You will see the A for auto in the range and range source (RRS) of the high action display (HAD) only. 9 minutes ago, coolts said: My bugbear as pilot is that there's no indication when switching from TADS to PNVS at all apart from a flicker. Unless i've missed it. The field of regard will change. It gains additional vertical tick marks (indicating 90 degrees since the tads has a 120 degree azimuth range) and moves at half the speed of the PNVS. Edited March 23, 2022 by bradmick

The slew rate difference isn't useful as an indicator as it could be frame rate, etc. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7 9700k | 32gb DDR4 | Geforce 2080ti | TrackIR 5 | Rift S | HOTAS WARTHOG | CH PRO Pedals

This is correct as far as I am aware, only in the HDU, if you have information that says otherwise for a AH-64D BLKII let me know Thanks Forum rules - DCS Crashing? ED Team Solution Raptor9 Posted March 23, 2022 ED Team Solution Posted March 23, 2022 It is correct. Only way to tell if you are up Auto rather than Manual is the presence of "A" versus "M" in the symbology range display. Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man. DCS Rotor-Head

As said, I didn't expect it to be a bug, it merely surprised me that this isn't shown on the MPD.
