how do you lock a target with f16

 i tried tms up and tms down nothing happens i can see the bandit on the radar

Is it shown as a white dot? If not, it's a datalink contact. You cannot lock it until your radar will detect it.

no it is shown as red triangle

You're more than likely looking at a datalink-contributed contact, which appear as hollow red triangles.

I mapped TMS like a plane so Yaw up, tail down, button down. But yes.
