When i start the game from the start menu shortcut, i get the game window and music starts playing in the background, and then an error message pops up, saying :

"Runtime Error! c:\games\black shark\bin\stable\launcher.exe

abnormal program termination"

Someone please tell me how to fix it.

Thank you.

Serben, is there a *.crash file in your temp folder?

If yes, please attach it to a post.

No, there isn't. The game never even gets to the main menu. It just starts in a window, and then background music starts playing, and then immediately it crashes. I ecen tried re-installing the latest visual c++ redistributable, since the runtime error was c++ related, but that didn't work.

If you are using any video/audio codec packs, try running the game with them uninstalled.

I tried uninstalling them, but it didn't work. By the way, it might be hardware related, so here are my specs:

Graphics: Ati 4870x2

CPU: Intel q9450 quad core overclocked to 3ghz

RAM: 4Gb of PC8500 1066Mhz

Soundcard: Creative x-fi Fatal1ty

Overclocking wouldn't cause a visual c++ runtime error. Overclocking causes BSOD, random reboots and complete system freezes, but not runtime errors. Runtime errors are caused by bugs in the c++ code, which leads me to believe the only thing that will make this game run is a patch. But i don't feel like waiting for that, so if anyone has any ideas that would be great.

I finally figured it out. I have a USB playstation 2 controller that has a setting called "compatible mode" in its configuration software, and by turning that setting on i got the game working. So i've been playing it for all day now and finally memorized the cold startup sequence in simulation mode, and tried flying around doing stuff. But a few minutes ago the game crashed, and now it refuses to run. It gives me another runtime error. It doesn't matter if i unplug my USB controller or not, it won't run. But this time it made a *.crash file in my temp dir. Here it is.

Could you give an exact description of this model or provide a link where we can get it?

how about some help? and i could use some clarity on what they mean on the download page about installing into the same folder. the eagle folder? the ka50 folder? extract that data1 file? i have no idea about this crap. lets have some precision here please.

@strannick: to install BS just put the setup.exe and data1.cab files into the same directory and run the setup.exe. Nothing else.

By "same directory" do you mean save each download into the same folder?

i did like someone else said, and downloaded the exe file from the ''russian mirror'' (whatever that means), and i have now crossed the floor from the ''problems and bugs'' forum to the ''gameplaying good times'' forum, and on revin er up, its like when john travola opened the glowing box in pulp fiction ''its.....beautiful....

Up. Anyone knows what controller is needed for such a crash?

Hi, for me it "works" (i.e. crashes) with my old MS Sidewinder FFB Joystick (the first edition, gameport only). An even older MS Precision pro (also gameport only) works very well. The result is as described above (see attachement).
