Mik75 Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Hi there! I just had to buy the excellent AH64D... Although I´m still in the demanding process of learning the Tomcat, the Apache was just too tempting... In the Tomcat, I´m pretty happy with Jester/ Iceman, and I´ve got everything set up and it´s working flawlessly. In the AH64, I still have some problems with understanding the AI integration. Fitst of all, when the aircraft is trimmed and flying nicely, as soon as I jump to the CPG seat, the aircraft becomes totally untrimmed and very hard to control, although in the CPG menu, all controls are mapped the same way as in the pilot seat. Why is that? And how can I jump into the front seat, with the AI taking control, and holding pitch/ attitude automatically? Thanks a lot in advance! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Greets, Michael
Nevyn Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 (edited) Switching between seats screws up the trim it seems, when I swop seats I hit the trim button before touching anything, seems to work. Edited April 19, 2022 by Nevyn 2

Ok. So you hit the trim button before you hit 2, or right after it? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Greets, Michael
Nevyn Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 (edited) After, sorry wasn't too clear on that, so swop seats, then press trim before moving the contols. Edited April 19, 2022 by Nevyn 1

Mik75 Posted April 19, 2022 Author Posted April 19, 2022 Ok. Hitting the trim button, right after switching seat to the CPG, kind of helps. It makes the aircraft a little more controllable. But if I have it in a nice hover, and I swtich to the front seat, to engage some targets, the trim is still all over the place, and it takes some time to get the Apache hovering again via the George menu. Am I doing something wrong here? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Greets, Michael
Kharrn Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 In your DCS options menu (think it is special Tab and then AH64D) you can change the way George takes over controls when switching seats. When i hop to the CPG, George mostly takes my last heading, speed and hight w/o problems. Even when im in a bad hover an George takes over, most times he can stable it to a nice one. Though sometimes we might just crash down... but well its EA so fine so far. And when you take over controls from George you want to use Right CTRL and Enter beforehand to look at Georges current control position and mimic that before taking control. That is the way i currently do hand over/ take over. K 1
