m005106 Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 (edited) Any help would be appreciated Recently I've been having this momentary freezing. It happens in any kind of mission. The freeze is about 1~2 seconds and happens every 5~10 seconds. Hot plug is disabled at autoexec.cfg. Mods are removed. Tried renaming DCS saved games folder. No joy. 5600X, 6800XT, 32GB, NVMe SSD, Track IR setup Edit : I'm also noticing windows taskbar appear for a split second. It does not coincide with the freeze though. dcs.log Edited April 21, 2022 by m005106
Flappie Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 (edited) Hi. Your log does show a very short session with no signs of freezes, so I'll just recommend things that worked for others in the same situation: Ensure your drives have enough free space. 40 to 50 GB per drive is enough. Ensure DCS main folder ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\") is added as an exception in your antivirus/anti-malware/anti-whatever. Rename your Saved Games/DCS/Scripts/Export.lua if the file exists (if it doesnt exist, it's perfectly OK). Avoid plugging a USB hub on a USB 3.1 port. Uninstall Razer Synapse 3. Reinstall NVMe driver (if you have a NVMe drive). Replace your SATA cable if you have one. If you have several drives, unplug unnecessary drives (all but C:\ in your case). Uninstall a recent Windows security update (this happened recently, see here: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/274486-entering-multiplayer-server-gets-stuck-at-net-sim-post-start/?do=findComment&comment=4949756). I see your pagefile is tiny (3 GB) and since you have 32 GB of RAM like me, chances are your DCS needs more pagefile from time to time (some terrains are memory greedy). But usually, small periodic freezes are not the symptoms for memory issues (crashes are). Let's try other solutions first, before thinking about editing your pagefile settings. Roosterfeet Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 I've only been flying the Apache lately but I ran into stutters that were alleviated by lowering textures to medium and terrain textures to low. 5800x3D, rtx4070, Quest3 (sometimes)
m005106 Posted April 22, 2022 Author Posted April 22, 2022 After some fiddling with the system I found out the culprit was AMD PBO. I disabled it(rather, set the offset to 0mhz from 200mhz) in the BIOS and now things are back to normal. Strange though, I had this on for quite some time without problems. Anyway, problem resolved.
