So many weird map choices while avoiding the most obvious choice.

ED has been working hard on improving WWll assets eg: the DM & FM improvements just last year, new WWll assets,

the recent introduction of the Mosquito and just last month they announced the WWll version of Marianas will be coming soon.

I find it disconcerting to fly a WWll mission over Guam, Tinian or Saipan without running into a golf course,    a real immersion killer.

They are also working on more WWll ships, planes and ground assets for US and IJN forces. They have also promised us an F4U for years.

I agree that at this time, we have enough desert maps with Syria, PG and NTTR. I live in Phoenix Arizona and I see enough desert every day.

So far, we only have one tropical map and there is a large community support for Vietnam, Laos, The Philippines and South Pacific.

While I respect your desire for re-creating actual combat scenarios, I also agree with others that most DCS users don't care about that.

They just want to fly and use their imaginations to create their own battles. That's what the mission editor is for.

If ED chooses to add an Iraq map in the future, that will be fine, as long as they complete the WWll stuff and tropical locations

that they have been promising us for years.

 

 

 

I am with you. I am excited about the south Atlantic map. I like the fact razbam is including the asset pack. What I hope to see ED work on is the following.

More cold war assets-the mig-15 and F-86 are in an asset desert. The MiG-19, 21, and F-5 are in one as well but it isn't as bad.

More naval assets for all eras. I would love to see the Iowas in dcs core. At least their 1980s configuration.

As for maps I want a central Europe map, as well as a Korean War map, an adriatic map covering both wwii and the Yugoslavia war. Alaska might be cool as well.

Right now all the paid modern maps are desert. If it weren't for the channel maps I would have guessed dcs really stood for desert combat simulator.

There needs to be verity. As well as more assets

Quite bold statement - where do you take your statistics from? Guess why Vietnam is such popular demand.

Btw, PG name is misleading. It's really SOH only. So Iraq, Kuwait and more desert for me

This is probably the only line in your post I would disagree with, as I suspect if we took a poll between who prefers to fly historic missions and who wants to fly what if missions, that it would be evenly split. However I do believe there is a desire to have a variety of maps.
