bengo Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Hey guys, ran into a bit of problems while setting up my HOTAS. Apparently there is a difference in how indows handles the AltGr-button versus the right-Alt-button. A number of European keyboards have an AltGr-key instead of a right-Alt-key to the right of the spacebar. Windows translates a press of AltGr not as RALT but as LCTL followed by RALT. Weird stuff. Think I'll have to drop making a profile on the stick, and map directly in BS. i7 6700k/GTX1070-8G/MSI-Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon/32GB DDR4 Kingston HyperX PREDATOR DDR4 3000MHZ Vengeance 1600/TM Warthog #6106/Samsung SB350_S27B350H/OCZ Agility3 SSD 128GB / Win10-64/TIR5
Lange_666 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 What type of stick do you use? Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base, MFG Crosswind pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S, Elgato Streamdeck XL. Personal Wish List: A6 Intruder, Vietnam theater, decent ATC module, better VR performance!
ED Team Groove Posted December 22, 2008 ED Team Posted December 22, 2008 bengo, im using a european keyboard layout and i have a AltGr key instead of a 2nd Alt button. The game interprets that one correctly as RALT. Our Forum Rules: http://forums.eagle.ru/rules.php#en
Lange_666 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 (edited) Hey guys, ran into a bit of problems while setting up my HOTAS. The game interprets AltGR as RALT but maybe his HOTAS configuration program doesn't. I ran into the same problem today. I recon that you have a Cougar (which i already asked for but got no response). The Release_Weapons has by default RALT + SPACE as key setup. I made a macro with the USB codes directly in the marco because the joystick file doesn't understand RALT: Release_Weapons = USB (DE6 DC2 U2C UE6) But ingame, pressing the button didn't release a weapon so i went back into Foxy, opened Keytest and saw that the code generated by this macro was: CTL ALT SPC Whne i pressed AltGr+SPC on the keyboard, it also showed CTL ALT SPC in Keytest. Ingame via keyboard AltGr+SPC worked fine!! So i decided to use the {} brackets in the macrofile which solved the problem. Release_Weapons = {RALT SPC} does the job perfectly but if you look into Korgy, it still returns CTL ALT SPC are a key-combo. Why there is a difference between the {} brackets and the USB keycode, i don't know. Legolasindar Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I recommend bengo use my profile for Cougar. All keys fuction, including Rkeys. And you can look macro for know Foxy work with Rkeys and other problematic functions. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=33583 In Foxy program press F4 and this open Korgy virtual keyboard, in this you can look all USB and others Codes. Lange_666 Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 All keys fuction, including Rkeys. I would not be 100% certain of that because every other keyboard layout generates other codes for it's special keys. It will only function 100% on a Spanish keyboard layout. And Foxy / Korgy is limited to Qwerty keyboards with the option of using part (but unfortunaly not all) of the USB codes. Been strugeling myself with this issue (and had quite some discussions (and help) with James "Nutty" Hallows on this topic) since i bought a Cougar 6 years ago. bengo Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 Thanks for checking that Lange. It proves I'm not seeing ghosts. BTW, I'm not a Cougar user, I went the CH-way. I'll find a way around it, if it should bother me : haven't quite made it to the point where I can employ weapons....yet.:smilewink: i7 6700k/GTX1070-8G/MSI-Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon/32GB DDR4 Kingston HyperX PREDATOR DDR4 3000MHZ Vengeance 1600/TM Warthog #6106/Samsung SB350_S27B350H/OCZ Agility3 SSD 128GB / Win10-64/TIR5
Legolasindar Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 You are absolutely right Lange. I suggest my profile and a keyboard in Spanish. :) :P [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Cavallers del Cel - Comunintat Catalana de Simulació http://www.cavallersdelcel.cat
