TBP_pilot Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 i set trim @ 16 units, afterburner , once i got launched , aircraft is not able to gain altitude i7 9700K 16GB RAM RTX2070S
Foka Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 Do you mean carrier launch? Besides of trim do you set flaps to half? 1
Blackfyre Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Wasn't aircraft too heavy? 16 degrees will suffice only if weight is under 44000lbs (I'd say 45), if aircraft weight is 45-48000 lbs, then trim should be 17 degrees, and if over 49000 - 19 degrees. Razor18 Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 (edited) Seems to me you are talking about keeping launch trim AFTER launch and expecting the Hornet to climb standing on its tail?.... If so, you are doing it wrong, casue the trim setting is only to have a slight climbing attitude after the end of the stroke. That will result in a large pitch up after launch with your nose pointing to the moon. I would suggest after cleaning her up, trimm back nose down to a more shallow climb and accelerate up to the speed waht the FPAS shows for best climb speed. Edited July 8, 2022 by Razor18
