Hi guys im thinking of adding a Virpil Collective to my Sim-rig as I fly a lot of helicopters in DCS, I currently have a Virpil CM3 mounted to a dedicated racing rig which has been modded to use my flight gear also and I'm struggling to see how I can mount a Virpil collective and use it whilst the CM3 is mounted, if you have a rig like this can you show me your pics so I can get an idea on how you are achieving this. I have included a pic of the LH side.

I visited a fellow DCS player last weekend.  He had a couple of rigs.

His helicopter rig included both a Warthog throttle and a Virpil collective.  His solution was to create a space of may 3-4cm between the side of the chair and the throttle unit, i.e. just wider than the width of the collective.  The collective was then mounted to work within that gap.  I gave it a try, seemed to work really well.

In addition, I was impressed with the collective.  Very much upto the normal "excellent" build quality that I see in other Virpil products and it was extremely easy to accurate and precise with it.

For me I was concerned about this as I had ordered a Virpil Collective with Monster Tech chair mount and I just did not see I would have enough room for both it and the Virpil CM3 Throttle. I have since found, at least with the Apache, I really did not need to use the CM3 Throttle with it. I just assigned throttle functions via buttons to my Alpha L grip I have mounted on the collective. Basically it is just moving them off/idle/full, I really did not need an axis for that. I got the standard Collective so it does not have the twist axis.

So when I fly the Apache I just very quickly connect the collective to my chair mount, and when I fly the Hornet I just quickly mount my CM3 throttle with the Monster Tech desk mount I have for it. Do not have a need for both to be mounted at the same time, and with Monster Tech mounts it is very quick and easy to swap between the two.
