Hi,

I would create/add this optical/laser designator on the model nose:

dap2.jpg

or this one:

mh-60-dap.jpg

or the target actually designated by the secondary IR laser beam from ground troops

Those things in your picture are not lasers, they are FLIR pods. And how many ground troops go around carrying laser designators so they can lase for aircraft? (it's a trick question, don't answer)

I'm slowly but surely illustrating a point here. Think about "Ka-50 and RWR" or "AH-64A and Stingers", and you'll have the same comparison as "UH-60 (including MH-60L) and Hellfires".

EDIT: Oh, and your linked videos: Thats just an IR pointer, not a laser capable of designating targets. Also, there is no Hellfire being fired in those videos, just miniguns, 30mm, and rockets.

Looks like Hellfires on the port wing to me.

And to the question about ground-troops carrying lasers: Just because the number is small, does this for ED indicate there is no neccessity to model it?

(Not even counting in other possibilities like airborne laser-designators.)

I bet there are more laser-designators for troops to carry than there are KA-50s in Russian service.

As far as I know the older UH-60L DAP use an AN/AAQ-16D AESOP FLIR. The AESOP is a FLIR with a laser range finder/designator (LRF/D). The Q-16D allows the DAP to detect, acquire, identify, and engage targets at extended ranges with laser guided munitions.

Yes you're right. As I said it's an IR laser beam laser designator. Only used by pointing to the target.

Hey Beczl, I think the name: AH-60L should be better for that armed Blackhawk.

to AlphaOneSix:

I believe this Blackhawk is able to aim and fire hellfires and stingers about the same way like the Kiowa.

- but in the worst case an Apache can light the target for hellfires of Blackhawk.

Hey Beczl, You know it's not exactly true :smilewink: We have this "little" secret

I hope it won't be scandal and flame :megalol:

I'm flying (all) other choppers with Ka-50 cockpit since Xmas ...FMs a bit different for each choppers (i changed FMs):censored::D

NRG Vampire-

I have been looking for a way to simply fly the KA-50 with the external apache textures. Since you have obviously been doing this for a while (since Christmas apparently) and many other people have been anxiously seeking help regarding this topic, can you provide a set of quick instructions on how to accomplish this.

Thanks

Maybe you can let me in on this little secret. I have been trying to figure out a way to fly with the apache skin using the KA-50 cockpit. Can you PLEASE let me know how this can be done or at least point me in the right direction. Your help in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It's not possible for me, I tried it several times, but unfortunately it's not working for me. So you should ask NRG-Vampire for about this topic.
