Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 I have my mirrors turned off right now and get a pretty good bump in framerates. I haven't figured out the usefulness of the mirrors except that with them on, it's more accurate in terms of realism. Are the mirrors modeled in BS useful for anything besides "cool factor"?
Chillspider Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 well directly behind you is a blind spot so the mirrors allow you to see it. I can use them real well using trackIR i can lean up and see really well through the mirrors. airea Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 With TrackIR, you can see yourself in the mirror... In fact, you can shave if you have your razor and foam with you:) Just kidding:)
Talon Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Very useful to me, kept me alive one mission. I was auto-hovering behind a hillside, shooting an armored column safely from far away when I get a "warning attack" betty call, so I looked around and saw nothing , looked up just in time to see a dark spec on the mirror of an attack helicopter getting into position behind me to shoot me down, he even fired off a few rounds but luckily I took lite damage and managed to get away quick and after a brief chase, I swung around behind another hillside and shot him down with guns. Spartan1-1 Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 They work well for seeing your wingmen. Thats about all I noticed from them. Turn them off and possibly saw another 1 FPS (?). It was a negligible performance increase. Ill probably turn them back on. Tango Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Hi, Essential, no, but useful they certainly are. Checking wingman position is good, and also when looking for bandits on your tail. Best regards, Tango.
