Hotdognz Posted July 27, 2022 Posted July 27, 2022 (edited) AI George has moved his head position back and left now when viewing him from inside the cockpit, his helmet as can clearly bee seen sticks through the rear of the seat and he is positioned to the LH side more, looking from an out side view you can see his head is more forward and centered in the seat as it should be but inside the cockpit its incorrect. I have confirmed this is the same view as other Apache uses are seeing when fling online< I have not checked with a human CPG Edited July 27, 2022 by Hotdognz 1
Floyd1212 Posted July 27, 2022 Posted July 27, 2022 I can confirm this is also the case for human CPGs. Both from the pilot’s POV, and also from the CPG sitting in the front seat. I also feel the head position of the PLT has changed slightly, or maybe the FOV was modified? 2
Apache 64 Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 (edited) Can confirm both too. I think came with the patch 2.7.16.27869 Open Beta. Thought that was only with me. Pilots FOV and/or position has changed and George sits further to the left, no longer centered. And as you can see from my screenshot, George's seat is actually more to the right of the pilot. (I know that the seat is not exactly centered in the real Apache). It appears that when you currently look forward at George from the pilot, he is sitting there centered in the cockpit/airframe, rather than in his seat. From the outside, everything seems to be fine. Apache 64 Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 Seat and cushion through the brain. I think that hurts enough space seen from the outside 1
corbu1 Posted July 30, 2022 Posted July 30, 2022 I can also confirm. Using VR. George sitting a bit left in his seat and helmet stucks in the seats cushion. imacken Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 I started another thread on this but it got all mixed up in a off-centre CPG seat debate, which was not the intention, and then @BIGNEWYmerged it, but this is a separate issue for me. Nothing to do with the centre seat issue, so I'm trying again. I’m having trouble with the cockpit view, particularly the CPG, in that I can’t access buttons switches on the back left panel, i.e. lighting/stores/jettison. The seat just gets in the way. It’s like the view is too far back. (See attachments). Any help appreciated on this. Floyd1212 Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 You can see my post in the other thread with instructions on how to move your camera position, and then save it as the default. Even better would be to create a Snap View that looks at those controls specifically. I use a hat on my collective for that. Then you can momentarily recall that snap view (hat left) adjust your controls, then release to go back to your normal view. Same thing with the radio controls on the right.
imacken Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 I appreciate that, thanks. I'm pretty sure I didn't used to have this issue though. I've been away from the Apache for some months now. Why would I be seeing this and no one else does? Something must have changed somewhere for me. Floyd1212 Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Lots of people are seeing it; this happened during a recent patch. The camera position got changed for both the PLT and CPG, more so for the CPG.
imacken Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Ah OK, that'll explain it then, thanks. BTW, I tried your method in the other thread, but afaics, you can only vary up/down/left/right. It's forward/back I would like to adjust. However, it's good to know it's not just me! ED Team BIGNEWY Posted August 16, 2022 ED Team Posted August 16, 2022 team have not made any changes to head position for a while, I have a report open for gunner position being to far left but thats all currently did you check to see if you have a snap view saved by mistake? imacken Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Yep, I've deleted the snapviews.lua just in case. It's impossible for me to access that lighting/stores panel atm as can be seen from the images. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted August 16, 2022 ED Team Posted August 16, 2022 if you are using keyboard / controller only you can keep turning the view left and it will extend the view around enough to see them. Obviously with trackir or vr its not a problem. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? imacken Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 Sorry, but I'm probably not explaining myself well here. Keyboard turn left doesn't work as the side of the seat gets in the way. It's TrackIR I'm talking about, and that is what the screenshots in post #1 are from. It's not about turning left, it's about the side of the seat getting in the way and making the panel inaccessible. The view is too far back. If I look down, then I see the back of the seat textures. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted August 16, 2022 ED Team Posted August 16, 2022 personally I am not having a problem seeing switches but I will speak with the team about the head position being to far back for the gunner. Floyd1212 Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 @BIGNEWY This was also brought up here, shortly after the patch was released that broke it for some people. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/305741-ai-george-head-position-incorrect-in-the-cockpit-view-images-included/ In that thread you can see pictures of the CPG's helmet coming through the back of the headrest. When the CPG's head is this far back, and you look down and to the left, all you get is the armored side bolster of the seat. 1
imacken Posted August 16, 2022 Posted August 16, 2022 First attachment is what I see when I look down. Second shows that if I move my body down, I can see through the textures and reach the panel! It's the grey panel on the left hand side near the seat that is obscuring the view and I can't get round it, have to go through it! 10 minutes ago, Floyd1212 said: When the CPG's head is this far back, and you look down and to the left, all you get is the armored side bolster of the seat. Hotdognz Posted September 23, 2022 Author Posted September 23, 2022 (edited) Also in VR me and my Apache buddies are still having to use the cockpit camera controls to move of head to the R to the center of the seat as we are sitting a little on the LH arm rest with the default VR view which is annoying but has been pointed out also. But at least George looks better from the back view now in regards to his head, I just cant see why they didnt move him right also at the same time Edited September 23, 2022 by Hotdognz
Hotdognz Posted September 23, 2022 Author Posted September 23, 2022 He is the correct position, see how far to the R side it is compared to ours, you can even see the left side Tedac null
