wowbagger Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 Okay, not sure if this is a mission bug or a DCS bug .. it seems very weird to me. When I fly mission 11 it overrides my SnapViews.lua settings and gives me a very wide (zoomed back) field of view. Mission 10, and all previous ones were no problem. It is repeatable for me, even after a game restart. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might cause the game to do this? I'm sure it's something simple and stupid that I'm overlooking. cheers 1 no sig

It's an error by the mission developer, he included his own View settings onto the mission and they have priority over your own settings. Make a backup copy of the mission file and then open the original using a zip tool, like Winrar, WinZip or 7-zip, and delete from the miz file the "Config" folder, highlighted on this picture: Here I will ping @Reflected so that he can be aware of this bug. Reflected Posted August 23, 2022 Posted August 23, 2022 Hmm that’s strange, I didn’t do anything on purpose. Not sure why it got included with the mission. Do you think I can just delete that folder from the miz? 1 Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord

I don't know why sometimes the /config folder from the mission author gets embedded on the mission, but just deleting it will solve the problem. The mission developer is not aware of the issue because the view settings implanted on the mission are the same as his own, so he can't see the effect, but mission players with different view settings can certainly notice it. Compare for example with Mission 10 ... see? it doesn't have that folder (and neither the /scripts folder) Edited August 23, 2022 by Rudel_chw 2 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

Cheers Rudel, I actually should have known this myself. I came across this in warbirds' the train strafing missions and reported it a long while ago. I knew there was something obvious I was missing. But I've been away from DCS for about 6 months now and everything's a little rusty. Thanks for the help. Much appreciated. 2 no sig
