He fires and hits easily But when i order him to fire with the gun, he says roger but does nothing. Even less then 1km. I noticed that putting CPG in fire-at-will (green) mode "sometimes" works, although only without any relative movement. Manually commanding him to fire never does anything except George saying "firing". I already switched using the gun by myself as pilot but i really wished George would use it more conveniently. If then the target is not dead, I'll have George to re-acquire the target and again he'll do one burst. placsea Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Is the range on the TADS 9999? I found in single player if you tell George to target something he will range it and then the range will update as you get closer and then when he fires he lases to get it accurate on target. In multiplayer this ranging doesn't seem to happen and will just display 9999 but if you set him to engage at will he will start haphazardly engaging in a weird truncated way firing off a maybe 1/2 a burst as he actively lases then stopping when not lasing. It's weird and I hope they fix it soon. Ideally George should get a laser range when the target is selected and it should give an updating estimate as you close in and then when you tell him to engage he should squirt the laser and do the full selected burst so long as he is in constraints. 1
Antix70 Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 I have only been able to get George to engage with the gun when he is weapons free (no Consent to Fire required, Green George Hud mode, or however it's referred to), and even then, only at short, SHORT range, and he will not fire complete bursts, no matter what the burst is set to.
Astralnut Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 I noticed the gun cannot be switched to George if I the pilot had selected it that is also true of all weapons. I had to safe everything and unselect the gun to have George use the gun. I am still testing but it seems I'm messing him up by selecting the weapon I want him to use and forgetting about it.

Astralnut Posted September 10, 2022 Posted September 10, 2022 I would say George is just unreliable, I noticed he fires the first time but swinging around and selecting a new target and he doesn't shoot. This happens with the gun and rockets but he hellfires he will sometimes shoot without a target. It is almost like George is experiencing lag or missed ques from the system.

placsea Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 (edited) Ok the latest patch has not fixed the problem for me so I made a little video show casing what I'm running into. Are you guys experiencing the same thing as me in the video? Gun seems to work fine in singleplayer as the TADS range isn't instantly defaulting to 9999 like it does in multiplayer. I do start to come out of constraints on that second clip because I'm overflying the target lol. Edited September 21, 2022 by placsea
